  1. Another goodie from sfdownhill's stash. An unknown manufacturer high mount exhaust. It has 2 hangers one near the end of the can and one near the front of the can where it meets the link pipe. My memory is rusty, but I thought this was a Two Brothers exhaust that he replaced the carbon fiber can when he repacked the unit. I'm not 100% on that but it's a pretty nice kit, tempted to keep it for myself. Anyway, asking $250 plus shipping from Anaheim, California. NOTE: Found out from someone who use to sell Micron exhaust systems said this is a Micron. I'll take his word on it but either way, this is a really nice kit.
  2. Thanks brother. Yeah, just attended his memorial service a couple of hours ago. Even though this happened a couple of months ago, it's still hard to believe and to deal with. I know I'll get over it, but man it hit me hard.
  3. So this would be a "re-welcome" to the club, I would say. Either way, Welcome to VFRD!
  4. Selling a "Barn Find". The infamous Wolf Under Tail exhaust for the 5 Gen VFR. I don't have much details on this kit other than I'm not 100% all the parts and pieces to mount it are here. In fact, the under tail piece was given to me by fellow forum member 'vfrcapn', who happened to have the piece.. If you're adventurous and have some mechanical ability, it might be worth grabbing. I do have the installation instructions but would definitely say it will require some ingenuity to get it in place. This is being sold "as-is" but the parts appear to be in good condition. Going to set the price at $600 plus shipping but would be open to negotiations. Shipping would be from Anaheim, CA.
  5. I have a Two Brothers low mount exhaust and link pipe for a 5 Gen VFR. Comes with a special mounting bracket that would replace the right rear passenger foot peg. Otherwise, I believe that the rear foot peg assembly could be used to mount the can to. Comes with springs and exhaust clamp. Asking $175 plus shipping. Shipping would be out of Anaheim, CA.
  6. This is a like new condition Delkevic PR1828 exhaust can and link pipe. It comes with mounting bracket and exhaust clamps. Asking $150 plus shipping. I do not have any details on this other than what you see in the pictures. Shipping would be from Anaheim, CA.
  7. This Pit Bull stand is the fixed handle version but does support swapping the hub pin. The pin currently on the stand is meant for the OEM VFR and OEM NT650 Hawk rear hubs. Asking $100 + shipping. If you're in So Cal you can always swing by and pick up here in Anaheim.
  8. I have up for sale a single sided swing arm stand that has the pin that will fit OEM VFR rear hub or OEM NT650 Hawk rear hub. A few people said it looks like either a Lockhart Philips or a TBR stand but I don't know for sure, but it is very sturdy. Offering it up for $60 + shipping. If you're in So Cal you can always swing by and pick it up here in Anaheim and save money on shipping.
  9. Long story short, I'm sorting through all of the stuff fellow member sfdownhill had left after his passing. I have volunteered to help find new homes for his motorcycles and motorcycle parts to help the family out. I'm still sorting through a lot of stuff and believe me there's a LOT of stuff to go through. So be on the lookout as I will be posting stuff for sale soon, I'm still taking inventory and pictures of what's in my possession. That said, I found a 8 Gen rear wheel and this front wheel that matches the color of said rear wheel, but I do not recognize it, anybody know what bike this front wheel goes to?
  10. I'll look at my OEM 6 Gen seat then. I currently have a Sargent on my bike so I was gauging it on how that one looks in comparison, as it has a storage section underneath to store manual/documents. Thanks guys.
  11. Hey all, I'm going through a bunch of motorcycle stuff that forum member sfdownhill left behind after his passing. I'll most likely be posting stuff for sale for his family, and I know what most of the parts and pieces got to. That said, this seat looks like it might be for a VFR but not 100% sure. I know it's not a 5 or 6 Gen seat, so can any 8 Gen owners confirm it is or it isn't for an 8 Gen? Cheers
  12. When I get back home from my new job orientation, I’ll start to look into this again. Right now l’ll be heading home soon. My plane lands at 9PM tonight then I need to be up and on the road about 4:00A-4:30A to be on the road to Vegas to help get Lance’s stuff brought back to my place in Anaheim. Probably be beat as all get out on Sunday but once I get back to normal hours I’ll be sure to get back on this. Cheers, D
  13. Sorry for the delay, Seb and I did have a discussion about this and threw around some ideas. We were going to follow up on this, as right now though, I have been really busy with work, finishing at one company and starting with another (No break in between). This and some personal things I have to deal with but we haven’t given up on the topic. One idea that Seb had was maybe a key fob, kind of like a dog tag, as a possibility. This way it would be more visible than a header plate, as a plate would require some additional work to put it on the header, plus finding a place to put it where one could see it. Another thought was maybe something to go on the top triple clamp, but again here how to have it mounted. Just some ideas to toss around. I’m also still in the process of helping the family out with all of Lance’s motorcycle stuff, he had quite a lot of it. I’ll be helping clear out his garage and “Moto Shed” and will most likely take possession of some of his bikes to help sell them. This Saturday I’ll be going to his garage and grab the bikes he had there. If he has any VFR goodies, I’ll most likely be posting them up for sale here on the forum. All the money will go to the family.
  14. DJ, can you post a pic of the item you’re talking about? I may actually have that part in my box of removed goodies. As for your conversion to a cable choke, I’d have to double check, but I believe you’ll need to swap out the water pump to the 98-99 model, as well as the thermostat housing of the 98-99 models. These parts do not have the ports that connect to the wax idle unit hoses. Can’t remember if I have the 00-01 version of the TBs or the 98-99 model TBs in my “spare” parts bin, but you would most likely need the 98-99 unit, as it has the lever that the choke cable connects to. You would also need the left hand controls housing that has the choke cable lever. Ironically, the 00-01 housing actually has the cutout for the lever, Honda just put in a plastic ring in place of the lever, but can remember if they left the cable hole open or filled it in. I can look into that later today and get back to you.
  15. That is great picture of Lance, a face and smile I will always remember. Thank You Grum!
  16. Yeah, definitely a tough year for me and one of my biggest supporters and cheerleaders was Lance. He went to the hospital to visit me when I got out of surgery and was there when they released me. He would call or text me randomly to see how I was doing and to see the status of my DMV situation. I have to credit to him for helping me get my license back, he gave me a number of a lawyer who works with drivers license issues, it was the lawyer who not only helped get the DMV appointment setup but to push it up by a month. When talking on the phone I could hear his excitement in his voice on me getting the appointment sooner but even more so when we spoke after I got my license back. He was like a little kid getting his first bicycle for Christmas, he was so excited to hear this and I can remember him just planning for us to ride together. Not only because it had been so long since we had ridden together but I think it was he wanted to one of the first to ride with me again. I’m waiting to hear back from his cousin and if I can be part of the crew to clear out his home, that would be great. If I have to wait until everything gets moved to Escondido, I’ll reach out to you.
  17. Ironically he was riding the track on all things, a skateboard. Apparently in turn 5 at Thunder Hill Raceway, he wiped out and from the reports, he just landed hard and in a way that he broke his neck. It was also stated by the Doctors that he had suffered “catastrophic brain injury” not sure if that was saying the same thing or he had even further injury. As for a commemorative plate for the headers, that sounds like a fitting tribute and IMO would be appropriate. Lance and I had plans to wok on another 5 Gen he was planning on building up. He was going to bring the bike to my place and we were supposed to build it together. Something he always wanted to do with me, do a hands on collaboration on something he would own. If his family is cool with it, I would like to take that bike and finish it up, auction it off and donate the money to a charity.
  18. I'm in contact with his cousin at the moment and we are looking at clearing out his place. I'm sure we can locate someone to perhaps build a set of "tribute" headers for the group, if not Wade himself. I'm hoping that he didn't toss out the welding jigs that Wade had given him and maybe we can do this again in his honor. Whether it's with Wade or someone else, the jigs would definitely be of great benefit. I'll keep everyone up to date as best I can. His cousin said they were planning on going to his place soon to clear out his stuff, I'll see if I can join them and perhaps get a hold of the jigs Wade provided him. At the very least, they asked for my help with all his motorcycle stuff, as his family is not that keen on what he has or values of his bikes and gear.
  19. I want to thank everyone for the nice tributes and thoughts. I know it'll take some time to get this out of my system and as much as want to ride and do it as a tribute to Lance, my mind is nowhere near being ready to ride at the moment. As we all know, we need a clear head when riding and mine is just not there yet. It's weird, I'll have burst of laughter and joy remembering some of things we did together and how that moment felt, then the next, sad and teary eyed, knowing that those memories are all I'll have of him now. There are very few people that I would go to bat for but Lance was definitely one of them. One of the best and greatest friends I'll ever have! Man, with all that's going on in the "moto" world and in my personal life, I would love to just speak with him one more time, get his thoughts and take on some of what's going on and in my personal situations too. He was a great listener and always had some input for me to ponder, I'll forever miss that but will always cherish my time with him.
  20. Bad news on a couple of fronts. After this last production run, our fourth run actually, the pipe builder handed off the welding jigs to sfdownhill, essentially ending our production runs with him. Unfortunately he and I never got to discuss what we wanted to do with them. Here’s the really sad part, sfdownhill had a life ending accident this past week, he was was pronounced deceased a few days ago. Another unfortunate issue, I never got to meet the builder, I only knew him as Wade and sfdownhill did all the interfacing with him, including the only one of us to visit his shop, so I have no way of reaching him directly. I am still in shock about what happened, let alone still in the dark about what’s going to happen with all of his stuff, all his equipment, motorcycles and even those welding jigs. He and I had plans to build up another 5 Gen using a set of headers from this last run and I don’t even know where that bike is at the moment. In all honesty, that is not my priority right now, mourning the loss of my friend and hopefully meeting with his family soon is. Here is a link to my post announcing this tragic loss.
  21. It is with a saddened heart that I'm writing this but feel the need to share with you all. This past Monday evening I received a Face Book Messenger message from fellow VFRD member sfdownhill's cousin. The gist of the message was, "Wanted to let you know Lance (His real name) was in some sort of accident and had to be airlifted to Chico Trauma center. He's being intubated at the moment but that's all I got. I'll keep you posted" I reached out the next morning for further status and essentially got that he was still unconscious and intubated, and had suffered a "catastrophic brain injury". This is where my heart dropped. I was able to hear from his uncle later in the afternoon and he was trying to give me more details of what happened but I was having trouble hearing in the noisy environment I was in and essentially almost a zombie at that point. He basically todl me a little moer of what they new that they were waiting and hoping for some good news but it wasn't promising. As of a few minutes ago, I heard back from his cousin again and he basically spelled it out, Lance was declared deceased a couple of days ago but they are keeping his body going so that his organs can be donated. If that doesn't say what kind of person Lance was, I don't know what would better say how giving he was. I have tons of stories and fond memories from the time I first met him, the time we went on our first ride together, to him attending my wedding. I guess my wife liked him too, as we had a very short list of attendees, but Lance was one of them. I initially met him as an independent contractor whom he needed my services. At first we had a business relationship, but that quickly grew into a great friendship. Not only did we collaborate with work but with motorcycles, and other fun interest. I think our greatest collaboration was the WyLD header project. It was only after a few big jobs that we did together that he said he had a big surprise gift for me, he told me that he bought us classes for the California Superbike School. I didn't know what to say and could hardly believe it, but again, that's how giving he was. I continued to work with him on and off for a few years until I got a full time job but still lent hand from time to time, he was my friend after all. I could go on and on but not only is it hard to write this without tearing up but I also don't want this post to become a novel. I'll post some pics for those who may not have met him face to face and leave with this. Lance was a great friend and one I hope others can pattern themselves from, I will miss him. Godspeed Lance! Here's Lance prepping his 5 Gen for our time working with the California Superbike School at Laguna Seca He and I posing for the camera at turn 6 at Laguna Seca after our work was done. It was a great day of working/riding. Here, I think I am explaining to him about my lines around Angeles Crest Highway. Looks like I had his interest. On the same Angeles Crest Highway ride, the "Three Amigos". Mr smiles in front there is my brother Niel. The three of us did a lot of riding together, as well as attended that California Superbike School class together. As happenstance has it, Niel came up from Mazatlan to attend to a few things here in California and we were all supposed to celebrate tomorrow me getting my license reinstated. Lance was planning another great celebration for us but alas, it did not happen. 😞
  22. Well folks, the rain of pain is OVER! Just received my notice from the DMV that my license has been reinstated! Still in shock at the moment but I'll be OK.
