JimMoore Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Hi Guys, I'd like to figure out a way to plug in my heated liner / glove combo. My Beemer came with a plug-in socket from the factory. Can I wire something like that up on my '98? Does the '98 create enough juice to run something like that. I know there are rectifier and stator issues with these bikes, but I don't know how heated clothing would affect those potential issues. Thanks, Jim Moore Quote
PepperVFR Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 I just sold mine that was in the forks, they do make them but as I hear they are hard to find....like this? Quote

Member Contributer vfrcapn Posted March 3, 2020 Member Contributer Posted March 3, 2020 Gerbing has some solutions. https://www.gerbing.com/dual-controller-wireless-ready Plus a battery connector: https://www.gerbing.com/battery-harness They've got all the adapters too. Quote
Member Contributer raYzerman Posted March 4, 2020 Member Contributer Posted March 4, 2020 Try Warm&Safe, look for panel mount sockets, and I'd go with the coax as it is smaller format than Powerlet. They do have some Powerlet (BMW) sockets as well. https://www.warmnsafe.com/ https://www.warmnsafe.com/collections/accessories-cables/products/coax-jack-panel-mount Quote
JimMoore Posted March 4, 2020 Author Posted March 4, 2020 Thanks guys. That Gerbings stuff looks like just what I need. How does the bike itself handle the power requirements? Quote
Member Contributer Skids Posted March 4, 2020 Member Contributer Posted March 4, 2020 Never had any issues running my Keis heated jacket and gloves on any of my VFRs (5th, 6th, 800X and 1200F). Quote
