Rogue_Biker
Join us on a roller coaster ride north of Los Angeles, that mixes tight, technical roads with fast sweeping roads, and everything else in between. Stop at Newcomb's Ranch for rest and bike viewing. Lunch at The Habit Burger in La Canada Flintridge. Rambler358
If I can get my bike serviced before then, I'm in. Are you planning on grabbing breakfast at the Ranchside Cafe before the ride?
Rogue_Biker
I'm having breakfast at home but others can have breakfast at the cafe if they wish. But we would like to be kickstands up at 8:30 so we can ride sooner with less cage traffic. But summer is over and we hope the tourists are gone too. 600 mile service right? I recommend doing it yourself. I wouldn't trust the service people to get the chain slack right. Seriously! My CBR600 chain slack was tight as hell when I bought it last year. They're supposed to check all that. I doubt if they even replace the oil drain plug washer with a new one.
Rambler358
I normally would do it myself, but I need have the top-box hardware and key-matching installed as well. I figure I can let them do the initial service, and I'll do the rest myself.
01ragtop
I can't this weekend. Have fun and be safe.
Rambler358
@Rogue_Biker - Do you know many bikes are expected to show?
Rogue_Biker
Next time 01Ragtop. Rambler, so far only three have committed, Duc2V4, myself, and another rider from OCMoto forum. We might get more of the same people from OCMoto (BMW, CBR1000rr) and hopefully more VFR's. The pace will be similar to the Palomar run so you know what to expect. We can try to get the comms to work again because it really does make the ride more enjoyable and safer for all. DOUBLE CHECK the dealership work, especially your chain, throttle slack, and tire pressure. I'm serious. Those simple things they rarely get right. All Honda's are 42/36 Psi Rear/Front tire. I'll bet you they'll screw that up! LOL!

This is a pretty good Honda shop (SoCal Honda Powersports), so I don't think I'll have any issues.

Slava
Hopefully if my wife let me go I will make. Can't wait to take my Horsie up for a twisted ride. Hopefully Ron can make it after his 600 miles service. Looks like I live the farthest from Point of Meet. Darryl/Duc2V4 mentioned rides to Malibu which is way closer from Oxnard but that's okey will need to get up earlier to make it 0830

Member Contributer VFR Capt.Bob Posted September 9, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted September 9, 2016 Sounds like a great time. Count me in. Just an aside note. There is no fuel at the meet up location. Best to fuel before hand.

I ran out on the way there once. Luckily there were some landscapers and they gave me a gallon of gas to make it to Sand Canyon. But I was low low when I got to Osborne. Rogue_Biker
So who are these SoCal VFR riders? Well ladies and gentlemen, here are a few of them. From L to R: VFRCaptBob, Slava, Duc2V4, and Rambler. L to R: Viffergyrl, MBrane, and Slava at the Habit Burger. And from the first picture above, notice there was a CBR650F coming towards the group? That's this guy Sam. We picked him up along the way because he was on a Honda. Our bikes at Newcomb's Ranch. It was a beautiful day for a ride in sunny, Southern California. Member Contributer VFR Capt.Bob Posted September 10, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted September 10, 2016 Had a great ride with you guys and gal today. Just what I needed to kick off my vacation. Good too see some familiar faces and some new ones. Hard work chasing the guys up front. They so fast! I need to work out. Forums like VFRD and group rides are a great place for aspiring riders to safely learn this sport. Hope to see you guys again on a ride soon. Slava
Nice photos, here some of mine :) Thank you everyone for invitation which became a good motivation. Should do it again maybe along PCH Malibu, Santa Monica there is place called Neptune's Net in Malibu - good place to meet once in awhile and have a beer or two :)
VFR4Lee
I gather Little TJ is open. Cool! Last time I got out 3 weeks ago it was still closed from the fire. At least I got a battery and tire today for my 03 Tuono so I can ride tomorrow.
