Member Contributer Dutchy Posted April 29, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted April 29, 2015 Gerhard Thurn from Germany is now offering The muffler come with 2 mid pipes; the exhaust bracket mounts to the passenger foot rest hanger like OEM, for when you want to attach panniers. To the subframe which has a pre-drilled hole for this from the factory ( he one in the middle of this picture) for the hi-mount. You make a small incision in the under tray to put the bracket through It carries an E-approval mark. For further inquiries, contact Gerhard at: info@thurn-motorsport.de Price is Eur 469 + shipping The euro is now about on-par with the dollar. Don't know the shipping cost Gerhard charges but if I ship a registered package from NL to the US (2-5 kilo) is is around Eur40 (5-10kg is Eur 60. So maybe add a bit for packaging. He offers a lot more goodies for Honda's/VFRs .. www.thurn-motorsport.de
Member Contributer auggius Posted April 29, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted April 29, 2015 Sweet. Does the E-mark mean that it is approved for road use? I love the look but I don't like loud exhausts.
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted April 29, 2015 Author Member Contributer Share Posted April 29, 2015 It does in Europe. And Germany being very strict on noise (as douglasthecook found out) I expect it to be throaty but within common decency
Beck
469 Euros/Dollars for a quality high right or low slip on muffler like that is not bad at all (My Staintune High right was just under 500 bucks when I bought it in 96)..... it's the shipping from Germany that might make it expensive for US VFR owners.... I wonder how much shipping would be??
Member Contributer Marsman99 Posted April 30, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted April 30, 2015 I like it. Been thinking of a hi mount for my '94 for 21 years now...
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted April 30, 2015 Author Member Contributer Share Posted April 30, 2015 Just drop Gerhard a note, he will know for sure. Or find a mule to carry one beck to the US.
750
Shame how the third gen gets largely ignored by exhaust manufacturers. Luckily for any 3rd gen owners out there, I managed to convince Delkevic they were worth making, so expect to see high levels for the third gen from Delkevic very soon! BRad704
Yes! 3rd Gen! I've been thinking along Dutchy's idea of buying a beat up OEM, just to steal the flange, then having a muffler shop bend the mid pipe for me.
