FinnRC36
The bike looks awesome As for the Koso mounting, you really don't have to use the magnets, at least I think so. I used a speed sensor from a VFR800 with my Koso RX1. I had to hack the wire of the Koso's magnetic pick up and splice it to the VFR pulse sensor but that wasn't a problem. My Koso needed 5V pulse signals so I used the Koso's magnet pick ups 5V feed wire to feed the VFR800 sensor but you don't really have to do that since the 4th gen pulse sensors output is already 5V pulses. You just need to splice the signal wire of the current pulse sensor to your Koso. Assuming of course that your Koso needs 5V pulses for the speed also. v4vfrgixxer750
Hey thanks for that bit of info! How would i find out if the koso gauge is a 5v wire? and which wire coming out of the speed sensor is the one i need to use as theres 3 if i use my speed sensor will it still be accurate then? thanks for any help! FinnRC36
Hey thanks for that bit of info! How would i find out if the koso gauge is a 5v wire? and which wire coming out of the speed sensor is the one i need to use as theres 3 if i use my speed sensor will it still be accurate then? thanks for any help! I measured them with a digital multimeter. You need to have the gauge wiring connected for this, at least groung and 12V power. Then you turn on the gauges and from the gauge's connector measure which wire is ground and which has constant supply voltage (5V in my case). The third wire is the signal. I then connected the speed sensor connector loosely so I could measure the voltage between the groung and the signal wire while I waved the supplied magnet in front of the speed sensor and the multimeter showed 5V pulses. It may be a little hard but with few tries I managed it. If you have someone to help hold the multimeter probes in place it should be easy. You can set the accuracy by setting the number of pulses and the tire circumfence. I measured the number of pulses from the speed sensor per revolution of the rear wheel with the multimeter and calculated the circumfence of the tire. I then used a GPS to get my true speed and compared to the gauges reading and adjusted the tire circumfence accordingly. My settings in the gauges are 12 pulses and 1980mm IIRC. My gauge reads within 1 km/h of the GPS so I'm happy with it.

v4vfrgixxer750
Well guys got an update but unfortunately not a good one writing this one from my hospital bed! Will cut a long story short for you guys..... Few weeks back i had my Dr600 stolen from outside work on a Tuesday couldn't claim as my excess was worth more than bikes value so a few days later i went out and bought a bargain fzr600 for £400 the same evenin i then got the Dr back that's the good news yesterday i was goin to pick up some bits to turn the fzr into a cafe. I was goin along a mile long straight road and slowed down for a junction that goes across it. just as i reached it a bmw pulled out without even looking. t boned me right into my ankle and sent me onto the grass, sky ground sky ground a few times. and the bike stopped on both my feet. So now im in my hospital bed with a broken ankle writing this 6 weeks in plaster at least and its 26°C outside........ will post up pics went i get out of hospital as just on my phone forgot to mention this was not on my vfr thankfully as wud probably still be crying about it now if it was! Hey guys still in hospital waiting for my second op as the bone came through skin so they had to leave it open and will hopefully be closing it up today fingers Crossed! Lil bit of good news came yesterday tho had a chat with the police officer dealing with it and he said she admitted fault at the scene and once he has my story of events he can peruse her further and hopefully press charges! Gotta phone insurance company today and give them all the details. hopefully won't take long to go through a claim.......... But u know wat insurance company's are like

v4vfrgixxer750
Thanks for all the reply guys :) im back! got out of hospital on monday evening all be it gonna be in cast for about 6 weeks and out of action for months! so as promised here the pics for you guys! heres the fzr as i got it and here it is as it was delivered back to me :( alot of superficial damage to fairings etc but worst damage was to both wheels! most annoying thing is that i had already bought a complete r6 swingarm and wheel to swap onto it! good news is though it still runs even after being barrel rolled and started up straight away, sounded ok too............ so im just waiting for the accessor to come and look at it. will most probably be written off but i might keep it and cafe/fighter it, can get a whole yamaha thunderace front end for £170 already got the r6 bits to repair/replace rear wheel and i need the rear bodywork, a headlight and a left footpeg to be roadworthy again so i dunno what to do with it!!! heres what my foot looked like after she hit me :( docs said the bone had punctured through the skin! on a side not though i did have an update for the vfr before the crash! bought myself a little mig welder and some pipework as the vfr downpipes were completely rotted through in loads of places here are the 2 front pipes tacked together (as far as i got :( ) got more pics of the nice bruises that started appearing on my left leg, i'll add them later

GREAT!! they both come back and to my suprise they say ive broken a bone in my knee as well! and it will need MORE surgery to put it right, heres the knee xrays front xrays shot /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ should be same shape top and bottom of knee joint side shot \/ \/ \/ \/ where the mouse cursor is, thats the bone thats broken off..... so now im in a full leg plaster and cant bend my knee, just waiting for a phonecall to say im booked in for a 3rd operation :( oh well just another broken bone and surgery to add to the claim as well!! here i am with a permanent erection for a leg lol stay safe guys and i'll update when i hear from po po and insurance!! Veefer800Canuck
Yeah, I broke my medial malleolus too when I crushed my ankle. Sucks. Sorry. It's still tender 2 years and 2 months later. If I poke it or rub it, I can tell. And that's with the hardware removed in that area. Now 9 months after total fusion, I can almost declare that my (slow speed) mobility is almost as good as its goIng to get, I think. Still Trippy and clumsy in certain circumstances. Got no balance whatsoever on the left leg. If I try to be a stork, I certainly tip over in several seconds unless I grab a wall or something. And the pain still comes and goes, it just sets in later, after prolonged activity, and under new activity, without a decent rest period inbetween. Good luck and do NOT cheat on your weight bearing. If the doc says 8 weeks, give it 9. Don't try to be a hero, even just across the kitchen. You will not help your healing.
