  1. will, at your size and assuming weight to go with it, have you upgraded your suspension? while all said previously is correct, if your suspension is setup factory, it will be quite difficult to keep the bike settled as you ratchet up the speed.

being from GaTech, i love the colors!! BMW has a bike with these colors and i love it too. great job!
  3. not a blackbird fan, but yours looks excellent. always admire those that go out on the road to serious mods...well done :fing02:
  4. if asthetics is concern, perhaps this is option. another forum said they are pretty good: http://www.techspec-usa.com/
  5. this idea works as well, goes on the outside(bar end) and does about the same thing. As long as your bar end doesn't spin. (That's what I started with). i tried this...very cumbersom to adjust, set release, etc. i used an oring and then attached another oring to it to allow me to pull out (riv's ears) and then it stretched the oring and didnt really ever work well....riv's looks better to me.
  6. not sure of a test. maybe just ohm out the eliminator to see if it has continuity on the pins. if all looks ok, why not try with 02 elim and w/o o2 elim to see if it acts different. this would tell you whether it was impacting things or not. you are saying that this is all new and that it has never run any better, instead of it having worked at one time and now it is worse, right? if always this way, might try removing PAIR valve as this seemed to help with this issue too.
  7. catless, 330ohm resistor, gutted stock pipes.....runs like a champ....no surging anywhere...i am going to try tinyminds one day, but besides the low gas mileage, i really can't complain about this map at all. could it be your resistor going bad/is loose? i think that would cause surging...
  8. no issues...i have both as i wanted to add the relay for accessories and actually added it AFTER the recall was complete.
  9. Across the top of the chart is spring leignth, I think the F4i shock uses a 7" spring so the 1095- would be the length you need (7.1"). Ohlins mostly uses Neuton Meters, which is real close to kg but not exact. Call Ohlins USA at 828-692-4525 and order a 1095-79/190 if in fact the F4i uses a 7" spring. That's a 7.1"x 2.250" x 1085lb spring! NM to KG = nm divided 9.845(there abouts)= kg kg to lbs = kg x 56.1= lbs Looks like nm to lbs would be: nm x 5.71= lbs! not trying to be an ass engineer, but the spring rate conversion is kg/mm to lbs/in for the 56x multiplier. i only point this out in the event they list the springs in some other format (ie kg/cm or lbs/thou or...) ok, i am being an a** :goofy:
  10. send a pm to member busylittleshop. he is on this board regularly and makes these. great product, great delivery and yes he will ship to canada
  11. I just picked up a new-to-me 1990 with low miles. All lights flickering slightly on my first night ride so I checked voltages and would you believe 18V at 5000RPM??? All this talk of the mods to the newer bikes is interesting, but I'm with Banshee: How do I get my 5 wire RR to put out less voltage? Thanks. If you have to much voltage, your regulator or sensing wire is bad...usually, the regulator is bad and needs replaced. not sure, but i thought someone said the older bikes dont have a feedback wire....
  12. shouldn't be any issues hearing those!
  13. i have heard nothing but awesome reviews of this school. glad you had such a fun AND useful weekend!
  14. goodridge makes them, you just have to find out what size goes on the bike you wish to put them on: http://www.motosport.com/street/search.php...t=badger-street oh, i am not advocating this website as a source; it was just the first place i found a nice shot of the goodridge stuff. do a search on goodridge and you will have plenty of options.
  15. Thanks for a description that I can understand. I guess I will have to pony up $15.00 to get the sensor eliminator. Rather, I'll go to Radio Shack for a resistor, a much cheaper solution. I hope it is just as efficient. Thanks again. i have the resistors from radio shack...work great, cost next to nothing, take no time to install...not worth the extra $29 to me for the 'official' ones. oh, by the way, rereading my explanation above, one might think i was 'simplifying' things....thats not what i meant, its just all i know about it :P
  16. the 02 eliminator simply replaces the 02 sensors in your exhaust. these sensors provide some type of resistance signal to your ecu that it makes fuel mixture decision with. the eliminator (or a 99 cent 330ohm resistor) simply fools the ecu. the PCIII also deals with the fuel mixture of course and if you dont put the 02 eliminators in, you will end up with the pciii map not being correct as the ecu tries to adjust things due to the 02 sensor signal. very laymen in description, but hope that helps. you will have a much rougher running engine if you leave them in.
  17. no kick and no WHINE!! :goofy: i came over a rise on the gas and the front came up and scared the crap out of me....gotta watch those 'bumps'! i love that V4 rumble....30 and snowing today....no riding in sight <_<
  18. coyze's map seems to work great with almost every setup on the 6th gen. unless you are going custom, put it in a ride!
  19. anytime you use the pciii, you need to remove the 02 sensors and replace with either an eliminator or a resistor. if you bought the eliminators already, no worries. if not, use a 330ohm resistor from radio shack instead. 99cents, buys 2 and you are done. oh, forgot...you are right
  20. :warranty: just got these in. a little tighter fit than the stock, but they did work without any modifications. my only concern is how hard it will be to get them out once they are a little dirty as you have to pull the center of the head out to get them to release and i can see having to bugger them up to do this once dirty.
  21. VERY nice. love the blue. wish i had the talent to do this to mine.
  22. Turtle, What i s this spanner like? I'm thinking I might need one as I do the pillion thing sometimes. here is the one i purchased: http://pitposse.stores.yahoo.net/psprsp.html
  23. i bought a spanner of ebay, set it once and never touched again as BR said.
  24. nice pictorial...man that front tensioner is really accessible...NOT.
  25. Tool kit?? is there more than the extension pipe and the curved looking thing for tightening the chain, I assume its for the shock too but for the life of me i cant get it to work. Found mine under the rubber strap on left side under seat That is unless there is another tool kit stashed. Have to check whenever i get home again. Thanks yes there are other tools...the extension and spanner you have is needed to adjust the rear hub to tension the chain.
