  1. Was it actually worn out, or stuck together?
  2. Here's a 10+ year old thread I found. Some good info, but no smoking gun.
  3. I just sent them an email with the picture attached inquiring about any details or availability.
  4. I don't own a motorcycle made in this century. My 98 ST1100 is the newest.
  5. Apparently it's made by Boonstra, for the VF1000R.
  6. @Dutchy Do you recognize this exhaust?
  7. We do a pretty fair amount of chip seal on back roads here in Western Washington. They do a pretty good job and by the following summer (or two) a road can be pretty nice. And stay nice for quite a while. Our chip seal looks more like asphalt than that close up pic tho. Every now and then they will black top some primo back roads. Woo-hoo!!
  8. Super cool! Glad you got it.
  9. I have no idea which way they lean, didn't even bother to look. Can we please not start this? Every disintegration / near-disintegration of a motorcycle forum starts right here. I thought this topic was weather, motorcycles and riding motorcycles in weather. Have we learned nothing? I'll be working on motorcycles so I can talk about working on motorcycles, until I can ride motorcycles again, and then talk about that.
  10. Settle down... I just checked out your weather forecast for next week.
  11. At least Red Rubber Grease doesn't destroy finishes on contact.
  12. There is nothing wrong with how a stock VFR handles, so liking that 16" front is expected. But it sounds like you just didn't get lucky with the geometry throwing parts together. Slow steering is certainly not a characteristic of a 3.5 x 17 front wheel on a properly modded VFR.
  13. Cool and Welcome! Look forward to seeing some progress. Turn your phone sideways when taking pictures. They look much better on a forum.
  14. "Refurbished a few years back" = "splitting dust seal from corrosion wrapped in electrical tape last century" Clean the oil pan and apply some baby powder if you're not sure where it's leaking from.
  15. What specifically "didn't work out" to your liking?
  16. 92 is on the lift for upgrade round 2. First is making some mods to mount the Fox remote res where I wanted it. Came out good. I purposely left a good chunk of the right passenger peg just for this purpose, besides the fact it is also the cowl mount. Res hose routes across with the brake line and then up to the shock on the left side. I re-installed the inner fender and no issues with the battery box at all. Pretty happy with it. Gonna look trick up in front of the muffler.
  17. I would never run one. Well, not a generic one. But as a tool to determine a set up I could see it being useful.
  18. I would verify the size of that wheel, width and diameter. It might look the part, but it might not be an upgrade.
  19. My 95 does not have the bodywork off to compare anything, but I'm pretty damn sure they use the same relay.
  20. Where are you sourcing the relays? The one in your first post looks generic. Also remember that the pump won't "prime" with the key switched to on. It will only operate when the bike is being cranked or running. "Red/Yellow = ICM engine run signal to energise relay. #4 Ignition Coil Ground pulses." - Grum If you want to determine if the relay was responsible for starting / running issues, just keep the blk - blk/blu jumped or install a toggle.
  21. I keep going back to that CBR650R fairing too. The CBR800V4 rendering is based off of it I think. But, in real life like Mohawk's pic, the area for the bars (like at full lock) seems a little more open. And with the headlights so low and angular, I think this could be mounted forward and high enough for your bars and still look the part too. Worth investigating more I think.
  22. For that pic... L - BLK/BL C - BLK R - RED/YL
