  1. It's not all based on feel. If you have a larger piston, it is easier but you have less travel. Your clutch may not release fully and you will have hard shifting.
  2. 89600 miles is a lot of miles on a bike. Time for something new!
  3. You probably don't have to change the oil either. Just add some if it gets low. I knew a guy, his father would buy a car and keep it for 3 years, then trade it in on a new one. He never did any maintenance. Didn't change the oil, did nothing. Car ran good. I would hate to buy a used car and end up with his.
  4. Cams and shims are hardened also. Valve seat wears and clearance decreases. This is what usually happens on all motors.
  5. Purchased on Ebay - JT 525 15T Front Sprocket for 1991-03 CB750 14-17 VFR800F VTEC ABS JTF1332.15 for $15.96 (US). From jra_jentschracing
  6. I went -1 on front with the stock chain and gear indicator works fine.
  7. I have a 2004 Ducati Monster with over 40,000 miles. Bought it new and it has never broken down. I still ride it today. If a Ducati is properly maintained, it is a reliable bike. I ride with other riders in the Ducati club and I can't remember anyone having problems on a ride. I think a Honda would be more reliable but a Ducati is not unreliable.
  8. Why don't you just buy the tire at rockymountainatvmc.com? I don't see the problem?
  9. I have a GPR exhaust. Fits with OEM hard bags.
  10. You don't have to remove fairing to adjust idle.
  11. You notice its only model kn-204.
  12. Before I got my VFR, I used K&N filters on my Ducati. Never heard of any failures on a Ducati. Very active forum.
  13. Changing the gearing is very simple! If you can make it better why wouldn't you? The stupid gear indicator will still work if you need it. It did in my case.
  14. Happened to me also, but they did make it right.
  15. Yeah, you're right. It's a 525. If your chain is still good. Go down 1 tooth in the front. When you need a new chain, put the old front back on and go up 3 teeth in the back. Easy and inexpensive mod.
  16. I am in the US and have -1 front sprocket with the stock 530 chain. You can purchase non-stock sprockets on Ebay for 530 chain.
  17. I see no reason to have linked brakes. You should be able to control the front and rear independently. I don't see how linked brakes would stop a bike faster unless you don't know what you are doing. I don't want the bike applying the front brake when I am using the rear.
  18. I have the stock chain and -1 on the counter shaft. Everything works. Better 1st gear ratio and better 6th gear - only slight change. I am very happy and recommend this change.
  19. I have a deluxe with ABS. This is my first bike with ABS and after about 4,000 mi., I have yet to feel the ABS kick in. This is with about 60% of riding in the twisties. I don't see when I would want to turn it off. Maybe at a track day. Now in the rain, wet roads or gravel/stones in the road, it may come in handy.
  20. Lane splitting is illegal in New York?!
  21. Look in Pennsylvania. Worth the little trip and save about $3,500.00. That's what I did (about 3 months ago).
  22. You should set the preload to 25-30mm of sag, with you sitting on the bike - front and rear. This is the place to start. Then adjust from there.
