  1. Now we just need the rain in the region to clear out . . .
  2. So does a Kennedy 1/2 dollar (apologies in advance to those outside the US). It's a perfect fit - great if you might want to change settings out on the road.
  3. Hmmm - an '07 in Candy Red with ABS and 4,500 miles . . . I don't want to know what you paid for it - I'll start crying!
  4. Those guys can make you feel like you got caught in the Rose Parade. One run I made between Red Lodge and Cook City, MT I finally started passing them in groups - sometimes 5 to 10 at a time. I wasn't trying to be a jerk - but I just couldn't stand it any more - they would take corners marked 25 mph at 15 to 20 - just ridiculous. The area from Custer north does look to have a lot of very tasty roads - there should be a lot of good ride reports coming.
  5. Very sorry to hear that. Best to your mom.
  6. Does that make the deadline June 26th?
  7. It's been a year in the making - and worth the wait. Sweet!
  8. Her loss! Not once Sturgis is over . . . Hmmm . . . and I thought these trips were all about connecting with one's inner hooligan!

I wish we could like photos like we used to be able to - if we could this would receive one from me. Mr. Grum, you certainly know your way around a camera! Beautiful shot.
  10. Interesting story. It must have been quite a feat of engineering to tie those 3 motors together and run all the power and torque through a gearbox that could take it. RC did a great job for me on both my bikes and cars. I'd definitely use them again.
  11. Great composition on the photo. I love that someone propped up the front axle for the missing wheel. Very cool. The bag looks as though it says "SW-Motech" on it. Maybe this one? http://shop.sw-motech.com/cgi-bin/cosmoshop/lshop.cgi?action=showdetail&wkid=15178065322359&ls=en&nc=1517806638-4036&rubnum=brands.honda.vfr800f&artnum=BC.HTA.00.307.10000&id=7&gesamt_zeilen=Tshowrub--brands.honda.vfr800f&typid=291963253
  12. IMO that's the best riding in Eastern Oregon - a can't miss. There's so much of it between here and there - doing all those and other side routes between here and SD could add nearly a week to the trip. So many roads - so little time!
  13. The Chief looks like a good alternative . . . covered bike parking, bike cleanup supplies and towel provided and for $8 they'll wash and fold a bag of laundry (or you can DIY it). Hmmm . . .

The Rowena Overlook is the best view in the Columbia River Gorge. There's no mistaking whose 5th gen that is. Great shot!
  15. I think the way he was referring to this made a distinction between the 3 pistons on the front calipers. The two outermost ones are operated by the front lever, which have their own bleed valve while the center piston is operated by the rear brake pedal via the proportioning control valve. The center piston has its own bleed valve which is oriented to the horizontal when the caliper is installed. Hence the recommendation to tilt it up 15 degrees to make it the highest point when bleeding.
  16. Everything contained here: http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/index.php?/forums/topic/86554-2018-vfrd-sumsum-4/ I'm really digging the theme of the motel. I love retro 50's / 60's types of establishments. Maybe it even has neon at night . . .
  17. Very nice 3rd gen. Maybe my favorite of all the VFR's. Around 1980, before the battleships were returned to service, the Missouri (BB-63) was moored next to the New Jersey (foreground of this photo). What an imposing sight to come down the road around Sinclair Inlet to see 2 monstrous battleships moored next to each other and then be able to pull right up in front of them. You have to see them to understand the scale. It's hard to believe something that big can actually move.

What a loss to have that bike stolen. I know how I would have felt if my then new 5th gen had been taken. It was just a magic purchase that was love at first sight. I wish I could go down and buy another new one. I'm lucky to still have it today. Spectacular shot - well deserved to be on the front page.
  19. S.D. vote here. I hope I can make it - just won't know until 2018.
