  1. Many sizes still available from STG.com. Just in time for a new riding season. Not a massive sale, but still a decent price. http://www.sportbiketrackgear.com/sidi-fusion-air-boots/
  2. I'll probably take a break from street riding when I have kids. Hopefully I'll be able to do other riding like track days, MiniGP, or dirt riding. Needless to say, the bike(s) will be staying, and I look forward to riding with my future children when they are old enough and able.

    Gasoline

High octane gas is only useful in high compression ratio engines as higher octane are meant to avoid pre-ignition in such engines. It's kinda sad that the oil companies continue to sell high octane gas to people with "regular" vehicles with "regular" engines, always hinting that they will gain more power by using such...... The one nice thing about that setup is the ethanol and race gas use different hoses. Which means no mixing in the lines. They say that the pumps with one hose, it takes about 4 gallons for what the previous person was pumping to clear and for what you want to start coming out. Kind of makes sens, as there's probably a gallon just in the hose sitting there.
  4. There will be slight disappointment, as some of the 4th gen build/mod posts were also purged. Should have backed them up to my personal computer.
  5. They could afford the original $60k but not the insurance or repair cost? If they did damage the bodywork, then, as shown by a couple members here, there are copies they could have had somebody modify and assemble to the bike. I hope that's not the best Japan has to offer. Maybe they took it to a car tuning company and not a bike builder.

Yes. The EPA is trying to push E15. Because another 100 million+ perfectly functioning vehicles in a scrapyard is the environmentally friendly way to move forward.

I believe there is a member or two on here in the petroleum industry who can confirm that it is actually more expensive to produce E10 from the refinery than pure gas.

mpgs dropped 20% when going from pure gas to 10% ethanol on the 4th gen. Not sure about power increase.
  9. The diameter is what I have measured, but my lengths were measured different. I did not measure the full length. I only measured from the one side up to the 'fingers' on the other side. Their thickness was not included.
  10. Once again, we find MM guarding JL The conspiracy must still be going on. Or the winter wasn't cold enough to chill everyone's tempers
  11. I thought there was a thread where a member (Ranger...something) was trying to fit 6th gen bodies on his 5th gen.
  12. Two big ones or four small ones?
  13. I know it's a press release with exciting news, but it sounds all way too confident. It gives the sound that they are guaranteed to be making a profit for the next 5 years. Not sure how they can even say anything close to that. Until you start selling, there's no guarantee you will make money. Perhaps the AMA could start an EBR class, kind of how BSB has a 675 and 848 class. That would at least get some bikes out there in public view.
  14. The staggered setting is almost personal preference. I've put mine even and staggered. Even is a little better IMO.
  15. You could also go the DIY route and build one for $15 that will be just as good.
  16. If you're really worried about the plastics, there are a couple of CBR body conversions on here that have come out very nice.
  17. It's going to be another great season. It was practically a Moto3 race for the first half. But maybe that's just PI and first race of the season. Do wish they made superpole 30 minutes instead of 15. SP1 was more fun to watch because it was only race tires, so everyone was out for most of the session. The qualifying tire does turn SP2 into a one lap session.
  18. Nothing suspension-wise will swap over. Brake lines won't either (standard vs linked brakes). I wouldn't get rid of the '97 unless you had an issue with it or really want a 6th gen. With the suspension upgrades, it will probably ride better than the stock 6th gen, so consider the cost of similar upgrades.
  19. I use Kodi/Openelec on a Raspberry Pi 2. It's pretty awesome enough power to play blu-ray with all the goodies. Add-ons are spotty, but I would assume running Kodi on a windows platform, you would have more options for add-ons. Also, current exchange rate from USD to euro is pretty good. 70Euro was $77 for WSBK Videopass.
  20. Think my favorite comment from Nicky was something like "Well, the straights are a lot longer now".
  21. First race of the year is this weekend ! Got to remember to renew my subscription when I get home.
  22. Unless it was that terrible, I would save the blasting for another time or right before it got painted.
  23. I'm 90% someone here has pictures of looking in the headers and finding all the joints were only half open from poor manufacturing. Then they tore them apart, ground them back to how it should have been, and welded them back together.
  24. Nicky wouldn't have moved to WSBK unless a competitive bike was in the pipes, right?
