LEGEND
I keep going back and forth on putting a handlebar on the vfr and have seen the LSL kit but also stumbled on this kit. Has anyone had any experiences with the Hurricane kit for the 6th gen vfr?
Member Contributer Calculon Posted December 25, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted December 25, 2020 Have not seen this kit but sure am curious about either. Love my VFR but it’s tough for me on long multi day trips.
Member Contributer DannoXYZ Posted December 26, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted December 26, 2020 Those aren't necessarily VFR-specific kits as they use generic bar-clamps and standard 7/8" bars available in numerous bends. revzilla - mika bar clamps revzilla - 7/8" handlebars takes you from bolt-on/clip-ons to these with more height & width. Will usually need longer cables and hoses. That's what makes it VFR-specific. You can pick from an unlimited number of 7/8" bars in any amount of rise you want. Commonly used on gymkhana bikes to give you more leverage to yank front-end around. hmm.... ape-hangers on VFR???

Maybe not quite 'hangers - but this Blackbird owner is workin' on it . . . I'm surprised he doesn't have a mini-keg on the pillion to carry extra fuel. The handlebars have the appropriate holes drilled in them and there is no need to drill anything, all bolt on using OEM cables, brake lines etc. In the end I decided f$#k it, riding has been severely hampered by my work in healthcare so I’ll keep her as is. I’ve stopped riding a lot as of late, gotta reduce the possibility of ending up in an ER these days.
Member Contributer DannoXYZ Posted January 11, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted January 11, 2021 ah thanks for clarification. Looking closer at photos, they come pre-mounted to an upper triple-T clamp that replaces factory one for easy installation.
LEGEND
Decided to finally try some bar risers (20mm) and I am very pleased. Combined with the BLS peg lowering blocks I’ve had for years, the risers allow me to sit a little higher and make riding in the city much more comfortable. Literally feels like a new bike to me, small change but a big difference in comfort. Should’ve done this years ago!
LEGEND
Fresh oil and a filter, risers are excellent and she still cleans up well.
