joemaniaci
I dropped a gold colored bolt that holds in one of the vacuum related items to the airbox. Didn't see where it went exactly but somewhere up front, probably under the throttle bodies. I tried just moving a magnetic tool wherever it fit. I tried blasting every nook I could with my compressor to see if it jumped out. I'm honestly okay with it with the expectation that it'll come out on it's own at some point. Member Contributer KevCarver Posted April 5, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted April 5, 2019 I found a quarter in the V of my ‘99 looking for a dropped fastener.
Member Contributer Captain 80s Posted April 5, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted April 5, 2019 I found the factory spare key under the airbox on a VF1000R I bought. Bonus.
Member Contributer Bent Posted April 7, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted April 7, 2019 Start the engine. If it doesn't crap out, you'll know it didn't go down a throttle body....if that's even possible.
Member Contributer Terry Posted April 7, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted April 7, 2019 I found a Japanese coin, two spare tank bolts and lots of gravel in the V of my VTR, nestled in the coolant hoses. Unless you dropped the bolt "in" the airbox, it won't cause much harm.
Member Contributer Captain 80s Posted April 7, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted April 7, 2019 Very much bad luck to remove the Japanese coin out of the V. I am sorry for your loss.
Member Contributer Terry Posted April 7, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted April 7, 2019 Never fear; I polished the coin and remounted it on the side of the clutch fluid reservoir.
