This afternoon (it is POETS day....) I inspected the loom where I noticed scuff marks behind the loom on the frame. Rhs, area below front right coil

Took of the tape and guess what is for dinner?

Spagetti!! :-)

(Un)fortunately, none look "cooked", for that would have identified the cause of prior shortening....

Och well, will see if tomorrow I can fit the new altenator. Time to read the service manual!!

Any pointers for things to be extra aware of? much obliged!!!

Drilled a hole in the subframe's side plate as to fit a proper bolt.

Looks good! Would have been ok to leave it with just one bolt (that is what Ricks suggest for the new OEM one that is the same thickness anyway). I am curious how it works for you...this is the first of it's kind!

I know what happen he now has a sever oil leak . Some wheres around the rear valve cover .
