Forum CEO HispanicSlammer Posted September 18, 2013 Forum CEO Share Posted September 18, 2013 What year is the bike? Each generation has its issues. Usually its a charging issue with the dash, or a problem with the ground cluster. The 6th gen had a recall on the wiring harness due to bad ground issues. Guest
I had this problem. I found that the black earth lead leading from the battery down to the brake balancer was faulty. I replaced it with 8G wire and all has been well since.

VFR4Lee
Don't overworry, but do find and fix the problem this is a sign of before it strands you.
Member Contributer Cogswell Posted December 18, 2013 Member Contributer Share Posted December 18, 2013 Mine is a 05 How do I know if mine has its recalled been completed? Is free? Formerly you could go to Honda's "Owner Link" web page and check your VIN #, even though it appeared to be just for cars - it checked all Honda manufactured vehicles of any kind. That has been dis-continued and the functionality split. Now the Honda auto website only accepts automobile VIN's, however the Honda Powersports website is not yet set up for that, but reports that it will accept VIN's sometime in 2014. For now just call your nearest service dept and read them the VIN - they'll tell you. http://powersports.honda.com/ownerlink.aspx
