2024 TMAC aka Spring Ride

2024 Spring Ride Official Post.
We shall be holding forth from Franklin, NC once again this year. The dates are May 16-19th and lodging at the Rodeway Inn, https://maps.app.goo.gl/zKsEQjNkrWFJZ1xD7. I don’t have any special rates to speak of at the moment. Donna spoke to someone when she booked her room and they said to go ahead and book and we’ll sort any special pricing out when we arrive. There is something going on in town those dates so book A.S.A.P.

I believe, and someone correct me if I’m mistaken, but I believe this is our 20th TMAC. Last year should have marked the 20th, but the cancellation of the 2020 ride negated that.

Can’t wait to see y’all there!

Sounds like fun. Let me know if you get any rates sorted. I've lost at that game too many times to book without them.

Our discounts have never been much anyway and definitely not worth risking not having a room. We have had trouble with hotels for years in Franklin due to other events and the lack of hotels in town. I'm booked! The Tigger got new suspenders last week and new rubber this week. Oil change and its ready to go.

For anyone who might not be on that Fbook thing, most of the usual suspects are signed up and there will be a good turn out. Just don't want anyone to think this event is dead. There will be a minimum of twenty bikes there and several groups to choose from. Y'all come join us.

Trailering this time. I’m coming solo with my Triumph, and maybe the 03 VFR.

Photo is the crowd from T-Mac 2005….

I wish I could attend, but my wife and I are leaving for a vacation that week.  Our vacation will be fun, but I'm still going to be highly envious of you all!

Safe travels, everyone!  🙂

I have a generator, but that doesn't mean I want to leave the power out on my house. lol

I'm weather watching also...despite having good wet weather gear. I posted a few notes on the ride post but got crickets. Not too excited to be drenched for four days on superb roads I can't zip along on. It is a lot of $ for less than perfect riding.

Sadly, Monday-Wednesday are looking excellent! Guess that's how it goes.

I'm making the call tomorrow. Is there any way to see who will be there each day?

Apparently, I've been posting on some other thread for the same event. Not sure why there are two.

Yup, got a well-worn ‘stitch. But, I just don’t  enjoy traveling to a destination anymore only to ride in the rain.

21 years this group has called me Al. 😂

When I first signed onto VFRD I took VTEC and AL ( I lived in Alabama at the time), hence VTECAL as a screen name.

Even after “shopping” for a better forecast (former Army Aviator- i looked for any half way good forecast to  fly VFR vs IFR…) the weather looks like a washout. At least for me it does. Hopefully next year….

Same here. We're going out for a few days right after the rally. 80F every day and nice out.

I was looking for you. We had four Tiger660's. Lost one day to rain and had a wet track morning. Awesome riding. I didn't really take any pics but will have a video up this week later.

Never believe the weatherman. We were up last month when the three day forecast was 60-70% everyday. We saw none. This weekend we had rain early or late so only  a few damp roads. I was looking for you as well as "Al".

Good to see everyone again. My son Jonathan came this year. His first time in the Great Smoky Mountains. We took it nice and slow. I moved him from Beginner to Intermediate. Great time. 1,250 miles in four days (yes, we rode down from Northern KY). We had the matching 2007 Honda VFR 800 RWB.

Thanks to everyone who helped organize this event.

Be safe and be aware out there.

I got to talk to Jonathan Saturday night and it was great to see a young person with the spark for riding. I spoke with admin about your FB issue and they don't have any outstanding requests. If you're not in, try again.

The ride before the ride. We stayed at Pineola, NC for four days. The roads were dirty and damp in places but still the best riding.

The GoPro was a pain in the ass all weekend so I missed a lot of great footage. This is what I got.
