  1. Even after “shopping” for a better forecast (former Army Aviator- i looked for any half way good forecast to fly VFR vs IFR…) the weather looks like a washout. At least for me it does. Hopefully next year…. AL
  2. 21 years this group has called me Al. 😂 When I first signed onto VFRD I took VTEC and AL ( I lived in Alabama at the time), hence VTECAL as a screen name. Erich (AL) If you'll be my bodyguard I can be your long lost pal I can call you Betty And Betty, when you call me, you can call me Al -Paul Simon
  3. Yup, got a well-worn ‘stitch. But, I just don’t enjoy traveling to a destination anymore only to ride in the rain.
  4. Watching the weather.....
  5. Trailering this time. I’m coming solo with my Triumph, and maybe the 03 VFR. Photo is the crowd from T-Mac 2005….
  6. Reservations made. Bringing the Triumph Tiger 660 and the VFR. The VFR is my emotional support motorcycle, never to be sold…😎
  7. Im loving the 660! My previous Triumph, the Explorer 1200, is a great bike and was an excellent long distance steed. I wanted something lighter and better handling-the 660 triple fit the bill. As far as moving to Tennessee…VTECTN ain't gonna work 🤣
  8. Its been few years since my last attendance. Im gonna try to make it this year!
  9. I’ve missed these get togethers. I’ll be there this year.
  10. Woo Hoo, been a while my friend. Look forward to seeing you there. Fist beer is on me. Yea, its been a while! Life seems to keep getting in he way of my planned get-aways.... Still lovin my VTEC!
  11. ...."cause I forget at times these forums goes well beyond the Tri state area" Lol- typical New Yorker. Give southern powersports in Chattanooga a try. I don't know anything about their service dept, but I've purchased 3 Hondas from them without any issues. Called ahead, put a small credit card deposit, and they had the bikes ready when I got there. All three times I was in and out in less than two hours. AL NYC Escapee
  12. Well, once again work has to come before Tmac. However, I am going to break away and head to robbinsville on Monday, and return home Tuesday evening....so, if you see a high vis 'stitch aboard a triumph explorer it'll be me... Is anyone returning or travelling through anywhere near Huntsville that can drop off a Tmac tshirt? :)

  15. Truly sad. A great guy to be around, a great rider, skilled craftsman--he was one of the folks that made our yearly get together special. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. AL
  16. I did my 03 at about 35k. Half of the vtec valves were out of spec. Dont overthink it--if you trust your measuring and mechanical skills do the math and order the shims.
  17. Not gonna make it this year--it's my youngest daughter high school graduation week. She is riding the family hand me down Seca 2 now--we plan on heading to Franklin later in the summer.... AL
  18. I'm in. I had a blast at Summer Summit 1....and I need another epic ride. AL
  19. I love my VTEC.
  20. 1980 BMW R65 I bought new in '80. Still have it--120k miles on the odometer.
  21. Class act all the way 'round!
  22. I love my VTEC! I think you whinny gear driven non-vtec owners should just step away from the Change Vtec screen and leave that thought to Vtec owners, if needed! BTW I've never bitched about my Vtec's throttle response in that last 80k + miles or the last nine years. BR
  23. Finally got off my butt to register and reserve a room---Chev is right, not many rooms left. See you there! AL
  24. I used the rubber stop removed from the cat when i installed my catless headers and JB welded it to the centerstand to give me enough clearance from the chain. file or dremel the rubber to conform to the centerstand. I even drilled small safety wire holes so I could safety wire it also. A little black paint and it doesn't stand out.
