  1. Welcome from across the big pond! Great looking bike!
  2. Yeah, I know this feeling! All senses work on auto pilot! It happens once in a while
  3. Congratulations on your bike and welcome from CT!
  4. Hello there, I remember seeing this bike for sale on CR. Years ago, I have sealed a leak in a tank using a Henkel/Loctite composite glue. It hesealed the tank for 10 year until I sold the bike. If I remember correctly, I have emptied the tank , applied very slight vacuum and applied the glue from the outside of the tank hoping that the vacuum would pull it in. Well, it worked.
  5. Just checked out the website. Pretty cool stuff offered there!
  6. I had the same problem on my 750. After taking and cleaning all connections, it turned out to be the turn signal/ horn switch causing a short and blowing out the fuse. I have cleaned the inside with contact cleaner (without taking it completely apart) back to normal since then, knock on wood! The funny thing is that the switch was the last on my list, so 2 hours of head scratching later and few more blown fuses, problem was solved in 5 minutes
  7. Have you checked the condition of your head bearings? Next would be front suspension. Do you know how many miles since last fork oil change/service? Sometime on rare occasions the tire choice can make a difference. I had to take a conti attack 2 tire off the front due to tank slapper induction on my vfr750.
  8. Shinko acquired the old Yokohama motorcycle division tire manufacturing. This is where Shinko comes from if I remember correctly. These are not the cheapest tires, they even makes track specific tires. Yeah, qualified facebook Comments!
  9. I am in central CT. No knee dragging but bad habit of acceleration out of corners (I guess) Even back in the day never got more than 5k on a '89 cbr600 on Bridgestones. If someone can guarantee 5k miles on a different brand, I would try it as I hate to pay $50 every time when I need a new tire. So far I have used Continental, Michelin PP
  10. I am on my third set of Verge 011, really like the tires but only get 3000 miles on front and rear. Only ride backroads. While the center is still good the sides are gone.
  11. Welcome to the forum! Great story and a great bike! I did not know this edition existed .
  12. I think, this is maple syrup, not fork oil!

I have these on my 600 Hornet. I did not have to use them, but the previous owner did with no damage to the bike . I guess they passed the test.
  14. This is standard procedure and how I learned it. However, I cannot convince my kids to do it this way. Good old times!
  15. I completely agree. Here, I pay $52 to mount and balance a $104 tire, it is a joke. The worst part is that I usually have to rebalance the tire myself after checking the balance on my stand. I think, next time, I will go to a small independent Harley shop for $20 cash and balance it by myself
  16. Hi Wald, Thank you for your donation of 50.00 USD. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
  17. Welcome to the forum from the Northeast. You got yourself a really nice bike. It should be more than a commuter bike.
  18. Yeah! Rub it in! Just got rid of 1 foot of snow and now ice rain tonight
  19. Welcome to the forum from the East Coast! Good choice!
  20. As always, Captain is correct! Not a banjo!
  21. For those interested, Formula one teams did a lot of experimentation with velocity stacks in the 60ties. It was called air resonance charging if I remember correctly. The idea behind was that the air in a long stack with certain conical profile and diameter to length relation could be accelerated in the intake by resonance. There were even books in the engineering section of my school about it. I played with this many moons ago on my first underpowered car and limited funds. These were cool times
  22. Welcome from the East Coast! Nice bike, looks to be in great condition. What type of exhaust do you have mounted under the seat?
  23. ...and a really cool reference to the forum!
  24. Thank you for the tip, this will be easy then!
