  1. Is it the bike in your sig or something else? Coils? Electrical components change with heat, so they can work better when hot or worse. Maybe worth checking coils, plugs, wires for spec. I'm not sure how heat could change symptoms in the fuel circuit unless it is the pump, which also has a spec.
  2. Forgot to post a few pics on the CB-1 bits to be clear. Previous owner took the dead pump off and tried gravity feed, which doesn't work. I put a proper used pump on for a while, then discovered that many pumps would work...even the connector is the same, but on shorter wires. An extender with a plug on each end would also work. I soldered. The rest of the plumbing is from stainless beer making parts...because Honda parts are NLA. It CAN be done!
  3. Not sure about your bike, but Many of the Honda pumps are the same with only different lengths of wire on them. I needed one for my old CB-1 and just ordered a new(er) one from a cruiser and lengthened the wires.
  4. In my best Jack Nicholson..."is there another kind?"
  5. I wasn't going to post the same but...you're very bold for the conditions! Maybe your driveway users are better than ours.
  6. I never get invited anywhere! 🙂 I hope that you guys had fun!
  7. No takers for a mountain ride to keep cool, so we stuck it out and went around the loacl lakes an hour east of me. It is always a beautiful ride, but NC sure has let the roads go downhill the last decade or so. Nearly every right turn had some level of gravel from the center to much of the road. The centers are all beat up with those left to right ribs every few feet making it feel like you're riding over a washboard, and there are frequent whoops which have caused me to tighten rebound damping on all of the bike shocks to try to keep from being pushed up out of the seat. A great reminder of whay I do so many track days! Still a nice day riding with an old friend on his Tuono. I miss the old NC I moved here for!
  8. Mine works like your last note...so I guess that I'm good! 200 miles seem pretty easy to get to before reserve.
  9. Trigger blanks? I just got back from the range. 🙂
  10. I'm considering spending a day in the cooler mountains Sunday. Anyone interested? Probably be out of Morganton or maybe Marion.
  11. Love the white. Curious styling. What's the rear seat cover from?
  12. Been there on the track bike!
  13. Look up parts on servicehonda.com.
  14. Welcome! Not sure about specialists...but afficionados, for sure! 🙂 What's going on?
  15. There was indeed a white VFR1200 sighting at CMP on Saturday!
  16. Hey all. Weather is looking pretty good during "hot track" time range both days. Come join us in Ketshaw, SC! https://www.n2td.org/calendar/
  17. We'll need some TRX riding video with audio...please.
  18. VTRs are awesome! I've owned a few too. A former friend got that 500 as his first bike while I had a GS700ES.
  19. With the clutch in all of the way?
  20. Welcome!
  21. What is battery voltage with key off and on?
  22. I just want the seat flat...like all seats should be. They haven't modified anything, because while I'd be in at $80, I'm out at nearly $400.
  23. What a "ride" this has been with the yellow bike. Still no explanation for the difficulty in fitting the shock. In the future, I may shorten the shock or raise the front a bit. It turns out that the refit cans updated clocking is correct and the original one was wrong. Must have been built on a Friday afternoon. Finally got out to test and adjust it on two rides. It is surely in the ballpark and a far cry better than stock. Still, once past a few clicks out, the damping adjusters do not click anymore, but still turn and make a difference. Strange. The shock has factory settings, but mine was never set to those. I rode it as it came for damping settings and it was terrible. I set them to factory, and still not great, but better. Finally set at 33mm cold rider sag, Low comp 16 of 24 out, High comp 10 of 20 out. Rebound 13/24 out. Road condition here is approaching what it is like in PA or WV, and normal damping setting are jarring most of the time. I'm married to it now, and the reseller was helpful, but would I recommend it over a Penske? Not really. While it seems to perform fine (and others will like the red look...but I don't), the savings wasn't worth the hassle. And the ambiguity in the adjusters can get in yoru head like not knowing tire pressure at a track day. Ditto on the fork kit I had installed on the '00, not recommended either. The '98 that Thermosman did is miles better. Lastly, I called Sargent to remove the dish from the '00 sargent seat, to match the flat one they did for the '98 for $79. They quoted me $385. Do you think that the guy just didn't understand? That seems crazy high for a tiny mod they've done before and have notes for.
  24. What are the details of the shock? OEM? Aftermarket and proper model for the bike? Spring weight and length? How much sag, bike, rider, rider & passenger? i've never touched down anything on my '98, two up, on the track, knee down.
