  1. It appears he has plenty more in his garage to pick from to ride every day. It is quite a project though.
  2. Yes, continuity between any 2 of the three yellow wires should be 0.1 - 1.0 ohms. There should be no continuity between any of the 3 yellow wires to ground. That would indicate the stator is shorted to ground.
  3. Seems pretty weird. Not sure how the battery would damage both stators though. Hope it's not a trend or I'll be letting you know soon when mine fails. I still have the stock regulator and stator in my 2001 VFR with 44k miles on it. The MOTY battery was put in about a month ago without any problems yet.
  4. You could probably ohm each leg to ground and see if there is a direct short. That should show up in the voltage output check as well though.
  5. Maybe you should become a dealer/distributor for them?
  6. You really need to change your profile picture. You look nothing like that pictures. :-)

  7. Could probably make them blink too for not much more work. :fing02:
  8. I've never taken the black caps off mine, but that is how it is shown in the manual as well.
  9. Winter isn't that long down here in the south.
  10. Dang it, I didn't really "think" I had a lot to do, but did come up with more than I thought. VFR: Custom PCIII map Front & rear brake pads Clean turn signal switch assembly Install Tires Check steering head bearings Flush brake fluid Flush clutch fluid Recover Corbin Seat '86 VF500F: De-rust gas tank Rebuild petcock Tires Brake fluid Battery Oil & filter change GSX1100G: De-rust gas tank Rebuild petcock Clean carbs Tires Brake fluid Rebuild front master cylinder Battery Oil & filter change
  11. I don't really have a "winter mods" list since the bike never really stops getting ridden, rode today as a matter of fact. :-) I do have some new tires sitting in the garage I got last week to put on though. So in the past, how much of your list do you usually get done?? Seems like you have a lot on there, so was just wondering if you actually get it all done or are there things that just get pushed off?? It seems I have a constant list of things to do around the house, on vehicles, etc. that don't ever seem to get done (no big deal items, just things eventually I'd like to do). I'm not sure I would know what to do with myself if I didn't have a list of things to do when I get bored. LOL

  17. Now you have individual switches for 1st and second gear... Good idea I might do the same. It's probably advisable not to flip the switches when the bike is in first or second. Otherwise you could throw a fault code. edit: a DPDT switch would also work. Please explain what a DPDT switch is. Thanks Double pole, double throw - Equivalent to two SPDT switches controlled by a single mechanism: A is connected to B and D to E, or A is connected to C and D to F.
  18. First time my bike has ever been on the front page........and it isn't even my pictures. :goofy: :goofy:

  21. Did you keep the mercury?? I wonder if mine is low or something. I seem to get air bubbles while running. If I shut it off, then back on, it is a solid column, then starts to get air pockets again.
