  1. YouTube video Older style of black widow catless headers and a quad muffler made by a Croatian manufacturer Shacal exhaust system technology. Very few produced, never saw anyone else using these. Crazy looking, but I love it. IMG_0636.mov

  2. Congrats on your VFR and welcome to the forum! Good on you for getting the bike started and sorted so far. Thanks for posting the photos, and I'm hoping to see more as you go. Good luck with it! 🙂

  3. Try an insurance broker. For decades I was with State Farm but with our last house purchase, the real estate agent suggested going with a broker. The broker provided home/auto insurance quotes far lower than any of the big name insurance companies with the new company having a similar AM Best rating as State Farm. Though for my motorbikes, Progressive had the best deal. Good luck!

  4. Another problem you may encounter is getting travel medical insurance. Ten or so years ago a friend had a crash that resulted in cognitive impairment. Subsequently that was one of the conditions for which his travel medical plan wouldn't get renewed. Granted, this is in Canada but definitely worth checking before your next trip.

  5. At a base level, I have a Broad Form Liability Policy thru Dairyland that makes me legal for any bike I'm on, whether I own it or not. Above that I insure some bikes thru Allstate. They also have my cars and house, but the bikes are a separate policy from Auto. I can negotiate a value with them that includes custom parts and accessories, and covers all of our gear. Everyone will have a story and these companies are still for profit, but for the most part Allstate has been decent to deal with when problems arise. When I worked at the Honda Shop, dealing with Progressive was the worst. But that was 30 years ago, so that review is pretty much irrelevant now.

  6. Hi Guys! My name is David. I recently bought a new '92 VFR and I've been working on it a lot as a project bike. The person I bought it from sold it non starting and I did some very simple work and it runs great now. It doesn't look like a normal vfr though. It has been stripped of fairing spray painted by the previous owner. I am embracing the street fighter look, but hoping to clean it up a bit. It has a few minor issues but it has been mostly fixed. I got my senior pictures done with it even! I attached a few pictures of it but I don't have any good one's of its current look. I have attached a new front shield, a new headlight, and a new taillight. As well as some minor paint touch ups. And one funny thing that the exhaust fell of, so I ended up welding a small downturn pipe back on, so it's pretty loud but I don't mind.

  7. Get some daylight pictures. I love the fact you ‘got your senior pictures done with it!’ Brings a tear to my eyes! Those 3rd gen have a lot of fun qualities to appreciate. That rear wheel looks like it’s peeling (and i truly hope that’s all it is) good job getting her running.

  8. This is gonna turn into an oil or tire thread I can feel it... but... You have an overall (db) limit to stay under for the bike to pass EPA (or equivalent) requirements. ANYTHING you can do to save some noise can be spent elsewhere and the loud gear drives are eating up a bunch. You can then "spend" some (db) on things like intake and exhaust to help make the power you want. It's also part of the reason they put in heavy spring loaded split gears on the cams. No spring loaded gears here:

Good Morning, I found this helpful link, it appears to be a service manual for the 8th Gen VFR800F / RC79 https://www.vfrdiscussion.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=67493
