Member Contributer FromMaine Posted March 14, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted March 14, 2021 Does any one here know of an after market supplier for 2nd Gen mirrors? Checked Emgo of course and did not find any listing, A look with Google found lots of mirrors that claimed they would fit. They all looked like they fell off a Klingon Starship. Both the mirrors on my bike have been repaired, fairley well I must say, but if I could replace them and keep the others as spares, i would. Member Contributer Captain 80s Posted March 14, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted March 14, 2021 I've purchased a couple sets of these when I found them on sale for some future projects. NS125R Mirror - ebay They are obviously not a replica, but they are one of the few mirrors that has the correct type mount for a VFR. They are also available in Red, White and Blue. Member Contributer Ronsk Posted March 14, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted March 14, 2021 Quick question, do the VFR gen 2 mirrors fit a VF1000R?

CharlieFoxtrot
I used Bikemaster 601122 and 601123, if I correctly remember part numbers from 30 years ago. Not replicas but the style and attachment worked pretty well and the view in the mirrors was better.
Member Contributer DannoXYZ Posted September 29, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted September 29, 2021 thanks! found couple sources. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bkm-60-1123 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bkm-60-1122 https://www.vividracing.com/-p-152851388.html https://www.vividracing.com/-p-152852211.html I suppose any 10mm screw-on mirror can work with selecting matching washers and nut. CharlieFoxtrot
I guess the million times I typed those numbers into the Yahoo group or the Wisc.edu listserv have firmly embedded them in my brain. You need to make up a bushing to locate the upper fairing, or make the mirror nut fit inside the original barrel that serves that function. I think I just put some hose around mine, intending to do better later. Here's the view:
Member Contributer Captain 80s Posted September 29, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted September 29, 2021 I just can't embrace the accordian boot, but I do realize the improvement in view.
Member Contributer DannoXYZ Posted September 30, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted September 30, 2021 I guess they do stick out further sideways than original "flag" style mirrors. Just doesn't look right though. I'm gonna look for some other 10mm screw-on mirrors. Would be nice to not mount them on fairing, too much vibration... You're gonna mount 10mm mirrors to the exact same location. And the original style mount also helps steady the upper cowl, there's nothing else up there doing that. CharlieFoxtrot
Yup, they bolt into the original mirror holes.
