Member Contributer tbzep Posted October 10, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted October 10, 2017 I had a daddy-daughter day with my nearly 19 year old girl today. We drove down to Huntsville, AL and spent the day the Space Center. It was probably the last time I'll ever spend a full 12 hour day with her. That's not what's amazing. I saw two, yes two VFR's on the trip. One was red and parked beside a house somewhere along the way. The other was in the parking lot of the Space Center. A white 3rd gen, no less! VFR.D member? Member Contributer Cogswell Posted October 10, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted October 10, 2017 Sounds like a great day. Except for the seat and bobbed fender it looks bone stock. Nice example. My MSF instructor worked at the local Honda dealer and had a 93. I drooled all over it. Should have offered to buy it from him. It would be interesting to know how many of them survive today in similar condition.
Member Contributer tbzep Posted October 10, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted October 10, 2017 One of my Canadian friends had a pristine bone stock 3rd gen in red, including the huge sail that some folks affectionately call a fender. Beautiful machine except for the big sail. I'd have a hard time deciding between the red and white one. Sloan's in Murfreesboro had a white one in the showroom back in the day, but their super sexy RC-30 gave it "kid sister" status. I've never seen a blue one in person but it has to be a great looking machine too. Sloan's had a blue 2nd gen in the late 80's, which looked good, but not nearly as sexy as the 86 RWB. There just so happens to be a sexy '86 RWB for sale not too far from me with 35K mikes for $3K - I might have to ride out there this weekend and check it out: https://www.cycletrader.com/dealers/Motorcycle-Enthusiasts-705323/listing/1986-Honda-VFR750-122130442

jhenley17
I really want to get a track bike, then, people post RWB '86s for sale and I just don't know. The white 3rd gen is almost as sexy as my 8th. I might need one of those, too.
Member Contributer Captain 80s Posted October 11, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted October 11, 2017 Track bikes are always available. A nice 86 VFR750F at a reasonable price is not.
