Member Contributer V-FORE Posted June 1, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted June 1, 2016 Leon, Sorry to hear of your mishap, glad its minimal! Deja Vu that happened to me back in 08, but when he backed into me the stanchion for the fender bolt broke and left a little hole in the forks....but no insurance, Company vehicle and I got 3k cash to settle it. Good luck with the rebuild! Gary
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted June 1, 2016 Author Member Contributer Share Posted June 1, 2016 Here is a rebuild for you.... All redslut will get is some scratch removal and a wax job. 1609...

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted June 15, 2016 Author Member Contributer Share Posted June 15, 2016 As not to have redslut throw a tantrum "you give that puma more TLC than me.." I've set out to do a full service on the front forks. Changed oil over the years, replaced the OEM springs but new a complete strip. The seals never leaked (18+ years, almost 100,000km) so that is OEM quality. but since I can, decide to get some SKF's They come with an extra spacer, unclear if I need this, I will do some measurements if the dealer doesnot reply The bushings ("ush ush in the bush") are due though... one looks ok (but will be swapped) but this one is farked Shine on, you crazy diamond copper
keny
That will be a good thing to do! Will be a big improvement I think SKF is quality by the way.

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted October 14, 2016 Author Member Contributer Share Posted October 14, 2016 Wow, I've been neglecting this topic...... Anyway, update, I caved in................ JOLO and with the insurance company paying for the damage set the scrap value of my bike at 240 Euro (against a pre-accident value of 2,600), I did really well on selling redslut's bits off........ Common sense told me a modular Shoei Neotec would be more practical... But with the UK pound weak as it is........ Ships with a extra (free) visor, so went for the dark one....
