I"m online searching for the proper part number for EBC HH pads for the front end of my 02 VFR.

I guess i'm doing the dumb - I can't seem to nail down what freakin part number it is I need to order......

ANyone know off hand?

I found this:

EBC Double H Brake Pads - FA388HH

And I think its the right one - but i'm guessing.

Next question - when I order the part number - do I need to order two sets or just the one part number to get two pairs of pads?

thanks.........

Just installed some on my '09. That's the part number on my invoice. That number is for one set (i.e. for one caliper) so yes, you will need to order two of that part number.

THank you! I see that ABS pads may be a different number - any verdict on that? Mines non abs.

Part number for my 2002 (non-ABS):

FA261HH

EBC has their parts catalog here: http://www.ebcbrakes.com/Assets/2012_USA_MC_Brakes.xls

I got mine on Amazon for $30 a pair.

The 1998-2001 and 2002-2005 VFR800s all use the SAME front brake pads, FA261HH. ABS or non, doesn't matter.

The P/N Ken has is for the 2006+ VFR800s, they use a totally different front pad, will not fit. FA338HH

ALL VFR800s 1998-2011 will use the same REAR pads, FA261HH, same as the 98-05 fronts. ABS or non, doesn't matter.

So to shorten, all 2006+ FRONT pads are different than all the rest. And all the rest are the same.

2006+ bikes got different FRONT calipers during that model year upgrade, along with the revised VTEC engagement points, and whatever other detail changes there were like the different taillights and turnsignals.

As a matter of fact, the FA261HH is used on a ton of different bikes, NT700, GL1800, ST1100/1300, CBR1100 BlackBird, Victory Vision 8-ball, and so on and so on.

I believe my 2006 ST1300 uses a different rear pad that although the same physical shape and size as the front pad, it is referred to as "black". I think the friction material in the pads is different. Do VFR's have a "black" rear pad for any years?

i have no idea, just the EBC application catalog listed the same pads for both. So they are physically interchangeable.

OEM pads for the two different applications may or may not be different pad compounds, I know not.

  • 4 weeks later...

Pads picked up today from Riders Choice in Mississauga for $39 a pair. For any GTA (Southern Ontario riders) don't bother going to Ready Honda Powersports - they are charging $57 a pair, and they don't stock them....

This will be my project later tonight.

If anybody wants me to order some and bring to Tmac, Amazon has them for $30.40 a pair and free shipping/no tax on my Amazon prime.
