y3v
Anyone ever purchase the 5th gen solo seat cover from eBay? Any feedback regarding these (non-OEM) cowls? I am looking at this one: Rear Seat Cover Cowl for Honda VFR800 98-02 Black 99 00 | eBay It's from Hong Kong ding dong.. just want to make sure I don't spend $50 bucks and get something that doesn't fit. But at the same time I would not spend $100+ for an OEM one..
Member Contributer vanion2 Posted February 1, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted February 1, 2012 Most of the Chinese knock offs are notorious for bad fitting based on previous reviews from members who have tried. And this information would turn me off: - Installed by Professional is highly Recommended - Color will not be 100% same as original factory color. You shouldn't need a professional to install a seat cover and the paint won't match?
Member Contributer luigi Posted February 1, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted February 1, 2012 Hi. Try here:http://www.nicecycle.com/default.asp They says that their parts are manufactured in US. I know that they have complete fairing kit, maybe there's the solo seat cowl too. ciao, Luigi,
y3v
Yeah.. I know.. I figured as much. Guess I'll keep a look out for a decent priced OEM one.. Anyone have one for cheap? Any color...
Member Contributer luigi Posted February 1, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted February 1, 2012 For me, the best place to find one at cheap price is eBay (UK or USA). It's just a matter of patience... Luigi.
wera803
I'd worry about the fit........since it is black, the color won't match any U.S. 5th Gen VFR.........well, except for Timmy's!!

y3v
Yea.. I'm going to keep my eyes open. If one of you finds an OEM for about $50 please let me know!
Veefer800Canuck
You can also search ebay UK, but the shipping might scare you. Having said that, Royal Mail is usually cheapest. http://www.ebay.co.u...-All-Categories

Member Contributer luigi Posted February 2, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted February 2, 2012 Hi. Look here, price will be around 30/35 USD: http://www.ebay.it/itm/cupolino-monoposto-honda-VFR-800-/220945751507?pt=Ricambi_e_Accessori_Moto&hash=item3371649dd3 This is in Italy. It seems that ship only in Italy, but asking don't cost nothing. Ciao, Luigi.
Member Contributer KevCarver Posted February 2, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted February 2, 2012 We had a guy here try out the NiceCycle stuff and it fit like you would expect. Not that great. I don't know if it is actually made in the USA, but I doubt it. That said, I did try a Dubious Chinese Knockoff windscreen, and it is really nice. (Seller was Timmy6666, so I had to buy it! ) It's as thick or slightly thicker than a Puig, with the same "double bubble" style profile. I did search the pictures for a seller that had all the same tabs as the stocker shown in the pics. For just a seat cowl, I think the fit should be pretty easy to duplicate. I have just seen in pictures, but is OEM at 99% (have no infos about VFR 800 fairing parts non-OEM sold in Italy) and appears in good condtition too. Otherwise mechdziner714 have made a good offer to you, i don't think that you will save more money if you buy the cowl in Italy (don't forget the custom duties). Ciao, Luigi.
