Veefer800Canuck
Had a great time at the meet, rode some great roads (Thanks Silver788 and Cogswell). Without further ado, here's a sampling of the pics I took on the way to, at and coming home from the meet. I saw Planes: Picture 151.jpg Trains: Picture 018.jpg and automobiles: Picture 013.jpg Oh, and a bigass Tonka Truck too: Picture 015.jpg Stopped at Frank Slide, where at 4:10 AM on April 29, 1903, Turtle Mountain fell down and buried the entire town of Frank while it's residents slept. Remarkably, the miners working deep in the mine survived, and they had to dig themselves out, as help was not forthcoming. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Slide Picture 011.jpg Accidental mirror shot while doing 60 MPH worked out great! Picture 023.jpg Water, rocks, etc: Picture 036.jpg Old car dealership, looked closed down for a long time: Picture 040.jpg Tunnel 'O Green: Picture 059.jpg Moar greenery in the scenery: Picture 060.jpg Even Moar greenery: Picture 061.jpg FINALLY got the The Edgefield and it was everything Lee said it would be. Historic and super cool: Picture 069.jpg Hung out in the outdoor dining establishment with the gang: Picture 071.jpg Right underneath the water tower: Picture 072.jpg Rider's meeting the next morning, I think this was the point where Tony told everyone to say their screen name during the "Walk-by" and there I was off shooting pics, so I didn't hear him. Picture 073.jpg Bike lineup for the first group rides on day two: Picture 074.jpg George (Silver788) took us on some great roads up to this nice lookout point, made a great photo op: Picture 083.jpg Picture 079.jpg Closeup: Picture 080.jpg Apparently someone else loved the view, and this was their special place: Picture 082.jpg Picture 102.jpg Group ride day two with Cogswell leading: Picture 112.jpg Picture 115.jpg And back at the Edgefield that evening for dinner. Spent some time around the statue dude talking: Picture 129.jpg Rode with Tyke out to the coast and saw the Spruce Goose at the air museum in McMinnville (see first pic). Went up the coast to Port Angeles, caught the ferry to the Island. Next to the ferry terminal there was a sort of mall with some art to admire, thought this one was funny: Picture 205.jpg Bikes lashed down on the ferry: Picture 210.jpg Riding up Vancouver Island on the west side, we got to Port Renfrew and had the most awesome Clam Chowder EVAR, and happened upon the Kawasaki Owner's club meeting: Picture 235.jpg If you're ever on the Island, do yourself a favour and stop here for a bowl of chowder: Full Size Hot Rod in Lake Cowichan BC: Picture 238.jpg And me, riding solo on the last day homeward. Had only my reflection to keep me company: Picture 270.jpg

Member Contributer Cogswell Posted August 29, 2010 Member Contributer Share Posted August 29, 2010 Super! Thanks for posting these up. I didn't bring a camera so the only photos I have are the ones others are sharing on the site. It was great riding with everyone and a lot of fun. Looking forward to next year. Curry ps - isn't the Spruce Goose cool? I hope you went up and saw it inside. :laughing6-hehe:
choco
Nice pictures, Rob. Hard to pick a favorite, but the one of you taking a picture of yourself following the shiny trailer is very cool! I've been wanting to ride to the Island as my daughter moved there and was wondering about the ride to Port Renfrew, I like chowder so I will be sure to stop by that place. Glad you enjoyed McMenamins and I didn't even have time to soak in the pool. Looking forward to our next ride together.

Member Contributer Tyke Posted September 2, 2010 Member Contributer Share Posted September 2, 2010 Hey some of those look very familiar :) nice shots Rob and it was great riding home with you, both the Air Museum and the Brittania mining museum were well worth the time to visit, glad we stopped at both, when I'm ridding on my own I tend to get very blinkered and never stop anywhere to see the sights, Thanks!! And yeah that was a great meet!
