Member Contributer Jmmymc750 Posted February 11, 2010 Member Contributer Share Posted February 11, 2010 I was wondering if anybody knew the exhaust port flange size? seems Termignonini makes a race header for the rc45 (meaning held together by springs), and if dimensions are even close, would love to try banging said pipes into place ona 5th gen. Left exit, stainless. Nice. I have a pitbull stand for front and rear, wont mind losing the center... Anybody know? Anybody? Beuhler?
Member Contributer FotoMoto Posted February 11, 2010 Member Contributer Share Posted February 11, 2010 IDK but I would assume the 45 ports are larger. BLS (Larry) will know.

Member Contributer FotoMoto Posted February 11, 2010 Member Contributer Share Posted February 11, 2010 Ahh skip that "common man" Termi and go exotic! :fing02: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-RC45-RVF750-HRC-TYPE-TITANIUM-SLIP-ON-TWIN-CAN_W0QQitemZ270528025779QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3efcba14b3 BTW, I know the seller from another forum. He is a westerner living in Japan, works in the m/c industry, has access to some serious nice/exotic stuff, and is a trustworthy seller. FWIW
Veefer800Canuck
Except that is only a slip-on, no headpipes, which is what the OP was looking for....

Member Contributer BusyLittleShop Posted February 11, 2010 Member Contributer Share Posted February 11, 2010 Race pipe diameter don't even work on a stock RC45 so there is no chance in hell it's going to work on a VFR... I found the exhaust pipe diameter is critical on the stock engine... I tired the HRC exhaust and it effectively killed the powerband down low... in fact the original stock (pipe dents and all) makes the best power because the tube diameter is small whereas HRC pipe diameter is large and only works in concert with the HRC kit parts... The best exhaust I found for the RC45 is Rob Lindeman's home made titanium wonder... not only will it drop 8 pounds but will push the power up to 116 rwhp... the secret to his design is the sections of taper pipes sourced from Akrapovic... expensive but worth it... no RC45 should be without one... I've never regretted the $2,900 cost...

I have a left exit on the old 90. I am just trying to cook up a way to get the 98 to the same spot. Got a ways to go...graduate student pay not very hi... I'm gonna have to get that ebay search thing down better...

I live in a small town, and nowhere near a big town (Dallas is 4 hours away). No chance whatsoever of getting a one-off around here. There is no green faced jealousy emoticon, or I would have one. Nice bikes in that stable. One day, when i grow up...
