Member Contributer Alien VFR Posted September 29, 2009 Member Contributer Share Posted September 29, 2009 ...so I used some Rustoleum products and painted it. I'm interested to see how it holds up. Since I found a somewhat local powdercoater with reasonable rates I'll eventually powdercoat both wheels. I polished the lip with Mothers polish. I then used mineral spirits to clean the wheel. I masked the lips and used a large C clamp to hang the wheel from a dog run in the back yard. I used a clean metal primer and then a gunmetal/metalflake color wheel paint. It closely matches the paint I used on the lower fairing and the stock paint in the Honda wings on the tank. I then removed the masking tape and applied a few coats of clearcoat to the whole wheel. I'll be getting a tire mounted tomorrow; I'll post up a few more pics then.

Member Contributer KevCarver Posted September 30, 2009 Member Contributer Share Posted September 30, 2009 Looks nice. I'm thinking about the same type of thing when mine gets back from the straightener. Just shoot some Krylon on it to see how I like the color.
