Member Contributer 2FAST4U Posted June 3, 2009 Member Contributer Share Posted June 3, 2009 We all know they can get a little scratched up over time. if you've painted yours, what color did you use? "plain" black? matte black? semi-gloss black? i'd like them to look as close to the original color as possible. thanks!
Member Contributer dutchinterceptor Posted June 3, 2009 Member Contributer Share Posted June 3, 2009 I did my Throttlemeisters in several coats of Krylon Matte Black. Held up well for a couple years.

Member Contributer mello dude Posted June 3, 2009 Member Contributer Share Posted June 3, 2009 I thought bar ends were impervious to all known paints? LOL! I agree with that one. Seems like no matter what I try on the ends, nothing looks any good and nothing sticks. I finally just said "screw it" and stripped the paint off, and just polished the damn things. Member Contributer Rivcyko Posted June 3, 2009 Member Contributer Share Posted June 3, 2009 Did my customs. Silver, then clear. Good for the 1 yr, so far. Problem with stockers is, right off the CNC, they're painted. My suggestion, (if you can), bead blast them, then paint.

That shot was taken many, many miles ago and it's not quite as spiffy looking now.
Tightwad
Asphalt VFR, Pazzo levers, clean as can be... Nice looking cockpit. He just doesn't ride it..... Seeing his bike in person has made me lust after the Asphalt black...although he needs to paint his frame, clipons and bolts still.
