    I forgot I had a new set of tires I bought before covid. Been sitting in the shed and theyre dated '19. Im gonna use them.

    Whats a good cover yall use? Looking to get a good one that actually fits our bike and is thick and possibly a soft inner layer to keep from scuffing.

    I guess. With the 6th gen cooler only being 1 row more and having to bend both lines I just ebay shopped amd found the rc51 cooler. Helps in the Texas heat and I just use velcro with cardboard to block it off during the winter.

    Ha. I did the same thing. Im not spending $45 on a filter just because it has a 180 bent tube.

    Glad to see people are liking the rc51 oil cooler swap. So many years have passed and with the double o-ring setup, shes never leaked. I've been off the forum for some years now. Ive been so busy that riding got left behind. Ive now got two 5th gens. LoL. Such a good deal I'd be crazy to not have gotten it.

    I did 2100 miles last week. VFR's are built travelers. I averaged 44-48mpg with luggage.

    Also make sure your starter button isnt sticking. It'll either blow the fuse to the gauge cluster when you get up in tge rpms or the FI light will start glowing.

    Years later. LoL. Bikes been running fine. Just did a 2100 mile trip to Florida and back. Averaged 45-48mpg with luggage, moderate to heavy winds, and insanely heavy raining.

    My FI brought up the baro. Replaced it with a low mileage ebay one and havent had the code since.

    Just dont ride while its extremely hot or cold and always have some water and food with you.

    Leaving O2 sensors in an exhuast unplugged just ruins them. Properly test them to see if theyre any good.

    I hear cam gear whine (normal) and valve chatter.

    My dad and I and a friend started taking long trips 4 years ago. Every time we go something happens. It's just part of the trip. First year my battery died (ended up being bad R/R), luckily happened in a town with a walmart. Second year friends harley battery dies. Yea push starting a harley doesnt happen. Can't remember other years but something happend. Obviously not so bad when in a group, but the best advice I can give you is.............

    I got horrible mileage when my t-stat was stuck open. Also the smell of running really rich.

    I would have recommended using quarts of breakin oil.

    It still bothers me our engines arent 799cc.
