  1. I have a stock shock that is in serviceable condition - pulled at 26k. Let me know if you are interested, I will snap some pics.
  2. Just double checked my order because I couldn't remember those details, lead time was 8-12wks and postage was insane then also.... 115 GBP
  3. I have a Harris, ordered pre-Vid - it wasn't the cheapest dalliance, esp with shipping to the US, but I'd do it again. It is such a nice piece, great craftsmanship and excellent fit. I am in the northeastern US, and while I don't ride in the winter, the roads are filthy. I decided to get a hugger to protect my DMr shock, because the factory one was manked.... so much cold-patch.
  4. 2000 picks up the wax unit/enrichment circuit, a cat and 02 sensors in the exhaust, a slightly less desirable header (marginally smaller diameter from what I've read).... A '98 at 25k mi is just getting past break-in! Surely you must have a good reason, but based on the bikes alone, I can't see it. Either way, I think all the parts you've listed should swap right over (maybe double check the part #'s for the forks & associated small parts to ensure compatibility. Good luck
  5. For a nice black, non-shiny surface I always use a good dose of original Simple Green and a stiff bristle plastic brush on my tires. Spray a liberal amount on and then give them a good scrub. It seems to lift/release a lot more dirt/oil than soap or other cleaners and leaves the sidewalls looking nice and dark black - with no grease/oil/dressing involved. I don't top dress the rubber with anything.
  6. It was $1,220 for the whole shebang (I find it to be very worth it). The rear BD40 was $675 at the time, but it was a release special. Jamie's current pricing is here: http://daughertymotorsports.com/honda/ Feel free to email him with questions - I've always found him to be responsive and supportive.
  7. Hi adkfinn, Thank you for your donation of 25.00 USD. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
  8. No pics, but I managed to get out on my '98 for a few hours yesterday to enjoy the unseasonably warm 64 degree F afternoon we had in Central VT yesterday. Probably my last good ride for the year, but I always try to squeak in a few short, low mileage rides in November also.

  10. I installed Jamie's BD40 rear shock and BD20 fork cartridge kit on my 5th Gen this season. They are amazing, completely transforms the bike and the fit and finish is top notch. More here -
  11. I don't think anyone meant to come across as too harsh, mostly just having a poke. I think most people consider this small batch replica header to be a different animal than a production piece, hence the different expectations. The 'other guy' actually took way more guff in another thread, but you both seem to have weathered it just fine. If we all agreed all the time this place would be pretty boring.
  12. Ok, I am definitely in for the next round of 5th Gen headers. I dropped my header to install a new rear shock last night and discovered that my factory header is already a mess. I just sandblasted and painted with VHT Flameproof header paint and clearcoat last year.... what a disappointment. The coating is failing on all fronts... some places rusting through already, some places just flaking off completely, and the 'clean' areas without defects look like shit anyway. Off to read about where to send my deposit.... I hope we can get enough folks for Wade to produce another run.

I picked this 1988 Shadow 600 VLX up in pieces as a basket case project. It came together nicely and it is my wife's first bike, even though it seems that I ride it more than she does.
