  5. The RC30 sprocket carrier is the same as the NC30 and NC35, so used ones should be available on UK eBay (though they are usually attached to swing arms!) Have a look at vfroem's threads/gallery. He's got an RC30 spindle mounted in a VFR750 swing arm (and NC30 sprocket carrier) IIRC. Ciao,

  9. Say what now? :blink: What are these differences you speak of? (as I haven't noticed them?) Have you had both forks apart at the same time and compared their components? The only nicer thing about the RR forks is the radial caliper mounts; everything else screams "built to a price" to me. Ciao,
  10. Yes, I was going to point that out... My spreadsheet was Honda-only. The main reason why I ditched it was due to my naiive inclusion of second-hand data that I had thought reliable. As soon as I realised it wasn't (e.g., the "common knowledge" regarding the 929/954/SP1 fork offset circulating on the RC30 Yahoo Group turns out to have been WRONG) I realised that my data had been irretrievably polluted. End of, as far as I was concerned--until I'm able to start over using 100% my own measurements, which is unlikely to happen any time soon. Why not CBR1000RR forks? Yes, they're trick, in that they have radial brake calipers, but they're quite short and the quality deficit compared to the RC51/SP1-2 forks is fairly obvious once you have both in your hands. The RC51 forks are the right size and are very well built. If quality matters to you, get RC51 forks, not CBR forks. Ciao,

  13. I had a remote reservoir brake master cylinder on my VTR1000F-forked RC36 for a while, but ended up going back to a "coffin" master cylinder because the remote res was always getting in the way. Bling sacrificed for practicality--I know, I have sinned! :biggrin: Ciao,

  17. FYI, the fuel pump is replaced as part of the A&A Supercharger kit for the 5th-gen VFR; Toro probably knows where to get OEM equivalent pumps, because he supplies an upgraded pump with the kit. Ciao,
  18. CBR900RR (929) master cylinder is 19mm VFR800 VTEC master cylinder is 14mm To explain the implication of this very clearly, using the VFR m/c with the 929 calipers will see the brake lever hitting the bar, most likely... :warranty: Ciao,
  19. The OEM VFR brake master cylinder won't be the right size. The only one I know of with similar appearance (and similar calipers) is off the early CBR600RR (the ones w/o USD forks), but the calipers are black, rather than gold or silver. Master cylinders should be matched to the calipers being used... Ciao,

Sorry to threadjack, but while you have that beautiful set of forklegs up in the air like that, would you mind posting or PMing the length from the axle center to the top of the fork......please? I got 29 15/16" or 760mm from the axle center to the top of the fork cap. :goofy: And are they RC51 Ohlins, or from another bike? Thanks. Ciao,
  21. You'd probably have room to fabricate some angled plates to attach to the outside of the switchgear, possibly slotted, to tighten with a new machine screw into the bars. To make it adjustable, you'd grind down/remove the pins from within the switch pods. Usual problem is adjusting the controls to avoid fouling the fairing on full-lock. Good luck. Ciao,
  22. My excuse was I was a skint student and couldn't afford to buy a slip-on (this was pre-eBay, obviously). Yes, I succumbed to the temptation to stick a long drill bit down the snout of the OEM exhaust on my FL... Using various additional tools in addition to the drill, I was able to get the hole to about an inch in diameter. But, as you know (if you're currently suppressing a snigger at this point), it sounded like crap. Sort of a tinny farting sound, not even close to the throaty roar I was after. And worse, it sounded exactly like some cheap bastard had drilled out his OEM exhaust! Needless to say, I saved my pennies from that day forward and eventually scraped up enough for a gen-u-ine TBR C2 slip-on--absolute aural heaven! Ciao,
  23. LOL, I remember this discussion on the RC30 Yahoo Group. Sorry, I have no more definitive answer than was offered there. HRC may not even have used standard Honda paint colours? Were there any production bikes with the same gold colour? Or is it unique to HRC? If the former is true, it may be possible to look in the relevant Honda Parts Catalogue, where the paint codes are sometimes listed. Ciao,
  24. The only Honda OEM five-spoke Enkei-type wheel I know of is the NR's 16"...and that may actually have been made by Magtek, like the rear. If there were a 17" Enkei-type front wheel (3.5" width, of course), I'd love to hear about it! Ciao,
