If you really have to have a secondary lock on it, a worm clamp works perfect. I've never had one on my truck in 12 years, but did put one on the bike. Not really sure why since I've never had an issue.
I am one of the Fumoto users. I have them on my truck, GF's car, and both VFR's in the garage. While they may drain a little slower, I normally just make sure the bike is warm and open the valve into a drain pan, THEN pull the fairing, oil filter, etc. while it drains. By the time I am done, the oil is just about done too.
Are you interested in one that is rashed, but does not leak to put on your bike until Seb can do another batch of window covers?
You could send your broken one to him for the work and not have your bike down. PM me if you are interested.
Damn, that looks like an old package. You could get one of these locally from Autozone for $15 too.

I had a YZF600R that came stock with a 120/60 front tire and actually took it off and put a 120/70 on it. The 60 tire always felt way too "twitchy" to me.
The turn signal dash bulbs are 3.4 watt, voltage is 12V, which gives you .28 amp. Not sure what the fast acting does for you. I know just enough to be dangerous. LOLAt first I calculated the amp draw of the turn signal bulb itself, but the back feed is just to the dash lights. I would think anything rated at one amp or higher would be just fine.
I've used one of those trailer wiring integrators (separate turn and running lights on the truck and single lights on the trailer) things before to convert turn signals into running lights on the back of bikes. I would think you could use one of those for the front as well. They wouldn't be nearly as cheap as a couple of diodes though.......Looks like $15 at Autozone for this one.

Here is a picture of some he made to put 636 forks on a KTM 520. I am certainly not a machinist, so couldn't tell you if things were done correctly or not.
I've heard there is a guy (Douglas Machine) in Athens that will do them for about $400-500 just depending on how quick you want them and his work load. i've never used him, but know someone that has. Might be able to eye his set if you wanted confirmation before having him make you a set.
