  1. Nice choice! I love my grey STR. Granted, the Triumph is my mistress bike and could never replace my beloved VFR. As much fun as the STR is to ride and was wonderful as it's motor is, it does lack the grin-inducing trill of the V-tec :o)
  2. +1 on the Alpinestar Gran Torino GTX. Love 'em!
  3. A flask of whiskey (or is that a given?)
  4. David Silver sells them. http://www.davidsilverspares.com//VFR8002-VTEC-2002/part_226412/ :)
  5. Hi there! Has anyone tried a 120/60 front tire (instead if the stock 120/70)? I ride on Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interacts. I love the swoopy feel the rounded-profile tyres give me, however, I'd like the bike to swoop a little more quickly. My last three bikes (R6, F2, FZR 600) all had Metzeler (M3 or Racetec) 120/60 front tyres on them and cornered wonderfully. My idea is that the /60 profile will make the bike more flickable than the /70 series tyre because the shorter tyre will slightly alter the steering geometery making the front end feel lighter; thus, swooping more quicker or feeling lighter if you will. Does anyone have some words of wisdom about this subject matter? Smiles, ~e
  6. gorgeous pic!
  7. I recently trashed a rear tire to the point that there was a 2" wide strip of steel belt showing while out on a road trip a had to replace it with a different brand. My front is a Z8 and the back was replaced with a Battlax (the only 180/55 the only dealer in town had). The two tires hated each other; jsut fricken hated each other. Where the Metzeler has a very rounded profile and likes to be eased into a lean, the Bridgestone has a much flatter profile and likes to fall into turns. So, the wheels wanted to move against each other; it sucked. Although the combination of tires wasn't unrideably horrible, it certainly wasn't confidence inspiring. Once I got a new Z8 for the back, the handling of the bike was drastically transformed. So much so that I threw some sparks off my foot peg while scrubbing the tire in on the first ride :) I'd stay away from mixing different brands of tires if I was you...
  8. The Z6s are decent tires. The Z8s, however, rock! The same leaning and sliding characteristics as the M3s, but much longer life span; especially on a heavy bike like the VFR. If ya like the Z6s, you're likely to love the Z8s.
  9. Thanks Bassie! I'll check that out.
  10. Hi there! My high beams have stopped working on my 6th gen. I've had the factory recall wiring harness replaced. I've also recently replaced the rectifier/regulator which did knock out both the high beam and low beam on the right hand side. The bulbs as fine. The headlight fuse is fine. The high beam relay seems to be fine (I swapped it out with the low beam relay and the low beams still worked). I took a peak inside the switch, that looks fine as well. The blue indicator light on the dashboard does not light up when I flip the high beam switch. A clue perhaps? Aside from taking it into the dealership, I'm about at my wit's end in trying to troubleshoot this. Does anybody have any ideas on what else I can check? Many Thanks
  11. It's hard to beat a tank bag with a hydration bladder (http://www.motocentric.com/moto-19-tank-bag.html). Being able to take a sip of water while cruising down the road is might nice...
