dozyproductions
My bike tipped over and everything is fine beyond a dime hole on the front fairing right around where the windshield meets the fairing. I have the piece that chipped off but it doesn't look like a simple "glue in place/weld" job. Does anyone have experience with repairing holes? Can give a picture tomorrow. Thank you
Member Contributer VifferJ Posted August 7, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted August 7, 2021 You should check out Plastex, it's pretty cool stuff and should do what you're looking for.

I've done this close to 100x If you carefully tape pieces together before gluing, outside surface can be perfect.

Besides toys, are there any common household ABS items that someone might have around to dissolve in acetone? I've got some scrap PVC pipe, but AFAIK that's not compatible. I usually have scrap fairings I'll chop up to make ABS slurry (be sure to remove all paint 1st). Here's good test for ABS: https://www.wikihow.com/Identify-Abs-Plastic
Member Contributer Cogswell Posted August 9, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted August 9, 2021 I'll have to check with some friends that have kids. It's funny you mention chopping up the plastic. In the video, it started off while I had the sound off. When he plopped down the sandwich bag with the plastic in it, it looked to me like celery. I just got a laugh out if it . . . thinking wtf???
