  1. Looks like Iconic has some pieces for sale in their Moto Market, side cases for $650 and an upper for only $149. FWIW I bought some parts from them the other month and all was well with the sale and great communication, you might want to check it out they have some other pieces too for what looks like the RWB model year? https://iconicmotomarket.com/products/honda-vfr800-interceptor-nose-with-lights-64210-mcwa-d000-1?_pos=34&_sid=0f78d2b9f&_ss=r https://iconicmotomarket.com/products/honda-vfr800-interceptor-hard-cases-blue-l-r-1?_pos=22&_sid=2f935ac3c&_ss=r
  2. Heated gear inputs.
  3. I put a 6th gen Ohlins rear shock on my 8th gen, fit no problem so I'd assume other way no issue.
  4. Congrats and welcome!
  5. Congrats and welcome Hammy, good looking gen6.
  6. Welcome!
  7. Congrats and welcome!
  8. Gen 8 is a two piece seat, looks like gen 6 to me.
  9. Sargent built a heated seat for my gen8 Viffer about 5 years ago, I had to send them the oem seats and they re-used those pans. It's a great seat and haven't had any issues, the heat controller you can see in this pic where I mounted it on the left, the rectangle shape controller is about the size of a box of tic-tacs. Do they even still make tic-tacs, I think I just dated myself lol...
  10. Welcome! For the gen 8 you can either run the rear seat or the rear cowl, you can't run both they fit in the same spot.
  11. I use one if touring on the Viffer and it does help extend the day, less is more for air, too much air and it will feel like a balloon and bounce you around, put some air in it and sit on it, when your butt touches the seat close the valve, it's meant to just fill the gaps.
  12. Yes I've used it to repair cracks on some RC51 fairings, worked great for me.
  13. Welcome!
  14. That's the location for the oem remote preload, I was glad that it fit there in the same spot and won't interfere with the oem side cases. The 2 holes on that bracket didn't line up so only has 1 screw with loctite but seems solid. Here's an older pic showing the oem remote preload there, I think it's just the angle on the pic, from the rear there is plenty of room to clear.
  15. Got the Ohlins rear shock installed and also had the front forks serviced, a rare dry day today in the PNW I got out for a good rip, bike feels great!
  16. Welcome back and congrats on the new Gen8!
  17. Welcome!
  18. Congrats & welcome!
  19. Thanks for all the inputs, much appreciated! I just recently purchased a new to me Ohlins rear shock and looking to get that serviced up and swapped out soon, the oem front forks don't necessarily feel bad but I'm sure I've just gotten use to any deficiency in them over time that the new Ohlins rear might now make more noticeable in a negative way. Being a 9 year old bike/fluid now I think I'll just get the oem forks serviced at the same time as the Ohlins rear shock service and install and be good to go without worry.
  20. Anyone know what the recommended frequency to service the front forks is, I'm not finding it in the manual? I've only got 10k miles on my gen8 but being its a 2014 should the fluid be changed?
  21. Awesome! Thanks so much for confirming, I had found an Ohlins for a gen6 for only $600 after sale discount, I was on the fence about buying it or not because I wasn't 100% sure it would fit, seeing your reply this morning I just went ahead and bought it! 🙂 https://www.ebay.com/itm/334737697587#readMoreDesc
  22. The Honda oem rear shocks are different Honda part #'s as I'd expect, as is the swingarm a different Honda part #, and from the fiches it doesn't provide size etc. More specifically I'm looking at aftermarket rear shock options and because the gen8 was only provided in the USA for 2 years (2014 & 2015) there are more aftermarket options for gen6 than gen8. I know many parts are the same between the gen6 and gen8 so am hopeful they would work but thought maybe someone here has crossed this bridge before and could confirm it?
  23. Yep, twins are seductive indeed...
