Evgeni Posted March 18, 2015 Share Posted March 18, 2015 I'm planning to upgrade to VFR, and looking at the used bikes. Were there any differences between bikes manufactured in 2007, 2008 and 2009? The VTEC timing was revised in 2006, did anything happen after that? Any changes to the bike, gotchas or prone to break areas I should know about? Thanks! In addition to body color, parts such as the frame, rads, forks and other assorted components were blacked out depending on the year and color comb. Starting with '08 the 'Elf' badge was dropped from the swingarm. Even though the wiring harness was revised in '06, there still have been reports of owners having wiring issues with later models. It would seem that some or much of that can be avoided with maintenance and inspection. Just get the best deal you can on the one you like the best and you should be good. HighwayStar2009 Posted March 24, 2015 Share Posted March 24, 2015 I bought a new '09 in 2011, 17k mi. no issues but I keep an eye on the electrical connectors.
