TNRabbit
Where EXACTLY do part #18 & #27 go on the fuel tank?
Member Contributer mello dude Posted September 13, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted September 13, 2014 When you lift the tank up there's the seam in the tank, slip it on over this seam about midway forward. Its to protect the tank rubbing/banging on the frame.
Member Contributer The mailman Posted September 13, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted September 13, 2014 You can see mine midway up the bottom of the tank edge along the frame rail.
TNRabbit
There are two pieces; does the smaller one hold the larger one onto the tank?
Member Contributer The mailman Posted September 13, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted September 13, 2014 OK, had to run to the garage for this one. This view is of the right hand side of the bike, the same bumper you see in the tunnel pic above but this view is looking from the bottom point of the tank up the frame rail toward the instrument cluster. You can just make out the flat piece fitted on the inside against the tank flange. Hope that helps! Excuse the dirt, i just got home from a 4500 mile ride. I thought my tank must be tipped slightly as I noticed the opposite side bumper sits flat on the rail rather than being tipped up like this one but I checked all attachment points and they are even and secure. Maybe a slight fitment issue?
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted September 13, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted September 13, 2014 if you are yet to order the parts, order a spare set....... and when fitting them, a tiny dab of glue will hold them in place so the part doesnot disapear in between the V4... donot ask how i know....
