Guest
I did this about six years ago to my Ducati 848. When I came across the left over mesh in the garage I thought it would look good on my VFR. So this is what a 25.00 mesh trash can from Office Depot can look like. Left side... Not done yet. Right side. From a distance it looks completely black. As you get closer you can see the black plastic screen on the radiator and the aluminum color of the radiator. On the Ducati it hides all of the wires and the cooling fans.
Member Contributer vfr Posted September 7, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted September 7, 2014 While it looks good, I'd be worried about a decrease in air-flow. The VFR's run on the hot-side already. Have you done a before / after temperature comparison?
Misspent Youth
There's a reason Honda put the radiator back up front on the 8th gen - side-mounts are too hot for sitting in traffic for any length of time. Restricting airflow as you have will only compound the poor engineering decision.
Guest
There isn't traffic or extreme heat where I live and ride. So maybe the rest of you should make the choice yourselves. And if that little bit of mesh overheats a motorcycle, maybe you have bigger issues.
VFR4Lee
Looks good to me. Can't imagine it would cause a problem.
