Member Contributer mandavdle Posted August 25, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted August 25, 2014 Got my new 1200 bike home, checked the oil and found the level to be too high in the sightglass. Drained off about 150cc, now at top line in sightglass. How bad is too much oil in this bike, anyway? Oops, wrong section ...

We just had a similar case not too long ago, long story short, not too much to worry about but something to be cognizant of on the next oil change. Member Contributer BusyLittleShop Posted August 25, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted August 25, 2014 too much oil may escape the breather and end up in the air box... oil in the air box may become ingested into the cylinders and cause white smoke out the exhaust... if you have none of these signs then your high oil level is not a problem... RobertoRC46
150cc won't hurt your motor definitely. Keep in mind on the next oil cahnge that you should set the level just below the upper level line or even at the 3/4 of the distance between the two lines (lower - upper).
