Gauge Cluster Question

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a super clean '94.

The cluster reads

It seems the title says 113,xxx miles. This bike is pristine and there's no way this bike has 100k on it.

Will these clusters display 113,000 or will they roll over?

Like in the following image, is it 72,729 or 7272.9?

There very well is a way that it has over 100K on it. There are a few people who have hit that mark on here and are still going strong. The VFR is that bulletproof.

The mileage is 72,729. Only the white number on the trip meter shows tenths.

I'll upload some pics. I just don't believe a bike in this shape would have 100k. Even if it did, the cluster is capable of displaying it.

I think someone wrote two 1s on the title thus making it say 113k instead of 13k

Unless they took out the odometer from the cluster and carefully removed the plastic head (pressed) that holds the odometer gear assembly/motor and rolled it back a crap load.

Looks like you scored. Nice clean bike, I doubt it's 113. I wonder if you can check for maintenance records at dealer, receipts etc with mileage to determine history?
