Member Contributer jeremy77 Posted May 20, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted May 20, 2012 I bought this bike totaled, knowing there was going to be a lot of work getting it back on the road. The rear wheel has a pretty nice ding that I'd like to fix before I strip and powder coat. But I'm not sure if it's possible and how it would be done if it is possible. Here's the damage: The tire is toast, obviously, but is the wheel salvageable? I've had this in my possession for about 8 months and the tire hasn't lost any air yet. Member Contributer Cogswell Posted May 20, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted May 20, 2012 Maybe take the funds needed to repair the wheel and put them toward an 8 spoke?
Member Contributer BonusVFR Posted May 20, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted May 20, 2012 Just send a picture to some wheel folks and ask them how much. I got a wired wheel fixed after driving into a 10 ft pothole in Alaska.

Member Contributer jeremy77 Posted May 21, 2012 Author Member Contributer Share Posted May 21, 2012 Just got a response back from a local shop: $225 painted, $175 unpainted!!! That seems pricey to me. I'll contact CruzinAZ and see what he thinks.
