Member Contributer jeremy77 Posted November 15, 2011 Member Contributer Share Posted November 15, 2011 It wouldn't surprise me if this question is already answered, but I've searched a lot and haven't found it. Has anyone on here done an under tail exhaust keeping the headers fully stock all the way to the flare connection? I'd like to maintain the ability to have that fairly quick release ability and not have to do a ton of fab work besides a custom mid-pipe. I have a 07 CBR1000RR just like this one: I'll also be using the CBR1000RR subframe and such... but that's probably another post. Thanks!!
VIFFER93
I believe it is a matter of finding the right exhaust shop. I was almost ready to give up on my undertail (I used TBR headers) because most exhaust shops would not work with me. I found a shop that built me the midpipe and I did not have to modify the TBR headers and the price was very reasonable. I might just be a matter of finding the right place to do the work. Veefer800Canuck
Most auto exhaust shops won't touch it, and those that do usually do a crappy job. Midas doesn't turn out work like this:
Member Contributer YoshiHNS Posted November 15, 2011 Member Contributer Share Posted November 15, 2011 Somewhere there is a thread about using a CBR600 undertail. Think it was on a 5th gen.
Beck
Not sure, but didn't the Wolf undertail system do that? Beck 95 VFR
Member Contributer YoshiHNS Posted November 15, 2011 Member Contributer Share Posted November 15, 2011 Yes. Wolf did have an undertail system. It was twin pipes though.
Member Contributer sa1713 Posted November 15, 2011 Member Contributer Share Posted November 15, 2011 A good way to find a pipe guy in your area is to locate the hot rod/race shops. They need custom work and will put you in touch with the pipe guy.
