flwoolybugger
Looking to get a carb sync tool. Does anyone have a particular model that I should look for or avoid? Any recommendations? Thanks,

Member Contributer Burns Posted August 24, 2010 Member Contributer Share Posted August 24, 2010 Any sources here in the states? Not that I found...(unless something's changed).. ordered mine direct, and it really wasn't much of a problem, and arrived fairly quickly, as I remember. Beck
I had the old style carb balancer with the plastic tubes and mercury. Used it quite a bit when I was servicing my Hawk GT and my brother's Nighthawk 750 in the 90's, but never really tried it on my 4th gen as access to the carbs and adjusters are just not that easy. Most manufacturers have since phased out the mercury systems as nobody really wants to deal with that stuff. I noticed they use alcohol in balacers now which might work OK but I think the Mercury provided some weight/damping in the system that must result in more stable/accurate readings. beck 95 VFR
