Member Contributer Philois1984 Posted January 18 Member Contributer Share Posted January 18 I was just browsing through some accomodation options in Japan looking for somewhere new to stay (2025, you have to get in early 🪱🦜) and came across a hotel with this photo of it’s lobby. It has to be a sign right…..
Member Contributer Grum Posted January 18 Member Contributer Share Posted January 18 Kon'nichiwa ogenkidesuka Phil. Excellent stay stay stay!!!. Tell them you'll take it for a ride to give it some good exercise, explain that this would be extremely beneficial for the bike. 1

Hi Grum, I will definitely try to convince my wife that this is the place we should stay (it’s about 30metres from her favourite restaurant) As for taking it for a ride, probably wouldn’t be very beneficial for it at all with me riding and several inches (or feet) of snow on the ground 🫣🥶 I actually managed to get a short ride in yesterday on the Triumph. Have been laid up for about three weeks recovering from an operation (nothing serious) and then it’s been raining most days, finally had some blue skies. Nice little cafe on the beach front. Hope you are keeping well Grum. Ja Ne Phil San

Hi Dutchy, nearly correct on the spelling mate it’s actually Roppongi (don’t worry I had to check myself) we went there a few years ago but not this year. I did partake of some sake last night actually, I tried a sampler selection and they were all very good, didn’t get drunk though. 1

A superb and very rare NC30 400 (or so it seems) It reminds me a bizzarre experience I had in Indonesia, in a business trip on an industrial plant very close to Sentul raceway. Aside to the facility there is a nearly abandoned museum with many cars and bikes with no access limitation. So I took the occasion to ride the V4 dream.... ❤️

Well what is the ride report????? We are waiting. Amazing how timing in life is so crucial....right place at the right time clearly in this case. DrErgal
Well, the tires were very aged, giving absolutely no grip, so only thing I could was taking her our for a small walk and no more. What I got from that experience is her compactness and great adherence to the "sense of racing"; everything is voted to racing only. Moreover, despite of the limiting tires (and my huge TERROR to destroy this treasure), I got impressed by her lightness: handling was easy and immediate, responding exactly to my thoughts. The frame and the fork were remarkably precise, but the rear shock was out of shape, with a poor rebound response and the sensation to be "stuck" (probably due to the aged oil in it) And the engine... uh, that V4! The power was not impressive indeed, but it was sensational and striking how it was running "accurately", with a very low internal friction. My perception, as a mechanical design engineer, was that this low friction was not coming from a good oil, but from a super accurate construction instead. It was evident how any single piece was made with the highest quality standards and the assembly had been fulfilled with patience and "human skill", regardless the cost. The feeling was that everything was more precise and accurate than a stock engine Emotional. Really emotional. She IS the Queen, to me
