This is the same manual that is already available here on VFRD. I have been using this so much lately that I went ahead and made it a little more useful for myself. I assumed that some other members might like to have it as well. Combined both files into one. Optimized the file size so that it is only 60 MB. Ran OCR text recognition to enable text searches on the entire book. Rotated pages that had landscape page diagram for ease of viewing. Created bookmarks for each chapter & sub-chapters. I figured this was the least I could do to contribute since I am getting so much help from this forum. -
Sorry if this has been asked before but I did try searching. I live on the Central Coast, NSW Australia and I’m looking for recommendations as to where to have the valve service done on my RC80 vetec. I’ve heard the horror stories and was ripped off by a mechanic who said he’d done the service and charged me for it but I recently discovered he hadn’t. As a result it’s now way overdue. The local Honda dealer has only just got the Honda franchise so not keen on them as they’d have no experience. Happy to travel to Sydney or Newcastle. Thanks for any help 🙂

Oil change time VFR800 FiX- how much should it need?
J800VFR posted a topic in Maintenance Questions
Hi, I've just done an oil & filter change on my 1999/2000 VFR800 FiX. The Haynes manual says it requires 2.9 litres of oil for a basic change an 3.1 litres if the filter is also changed (which I did). With the bike on the centre stand, i filled it so that the oil level was in directly between the lower and upper levels on the sight glass, which took almost exactly 3 litres and then I ran the engine for a couple of minutes at idle. The level then dropped, which I assume is when it had filed the new filter. I then shut the engine off and topped it up which required another 300ml of oil. However; I may have added slightly too much oil as it's now just on the upper level in the sight glass instead of between the two levels. Also I notice that when I restart the engine the level in the glass drops down blow the minimum line. Is this OK?- 4 replies

Does anyone know where I might be able to get/buy an eBook version of the service manual? Not one of those rip off photocopied manuals, I have one of those, and the images are almost useless (basically big black blobs)... unless someone has a copy where the images are detailed and descriptive? I'm not a fan of the old school paperback, these things need to move on with the times!

Hi folks, my seat latch rattled loose and I lost the slider pin that goes in the middle of the mechanism. If you feel like securing your own with loctite, now would be a great time!, but before you do that, remove and take pix for me please? So I can have it made. Better yet if you simply have a spare one; take pictures over a grid background and send? or sell... /edit ; The side under the seat, where it latches. I may have some other ineresting pix to reply with! lol. I'd really appreciate it. Lockless in Mexico.
