  1. Reasons to be cheerful........part 1 They will clean up nicely No customs bill attached!
  2. Super! good to see that part #2 in your pics is "hat" shaped, just like mine.
  3. Got some 15cc of what had the consistency of ketjap manis, but did not smell like it :-) Cheers Timmay! Can we all keep our fingers crossed that Dutch Customs will not go berserk on import duties??? :-)
  4. Inspecting the fuel tap, I realised that fitting the vacuum hose to the little fuel drain is not clever.... It also found that the repair kit "fits vf500f2" will not. It is way smaller.. The new smaller diaphram is very flat whereas the oem one is is a "hat" shape. No holes or tears. So is this one eol or is this normal? According to the manual, there should be a small siff/filter inside but it is not there. There was a tiny bit of crap inside the cap that is screwed on at the bottom. Worth getting one or adding an inline fuel filter?
  5. The Tubes................. Near the rear brake pedal, 3 tubes hang down, one of which is capped (sorry for the crappy pic) what is this? some overflow from the airbox? Should I take the cap of to let out some crap? Oh yeah, The Tubes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kP8nGNbk7oQ Nina Hagen liked it a lot... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWzPcDtZZZo
  6. Yes is does, but getting fresh oil in is a bit more work. My shop manual has a procedure but it requires a press to compress the shock. Am riding now, eating ice cream in fact. :-)
  7. No worries on the boxes, good thing you did not use 9MM ammo boxes..... imagine Dutch customs having kittens when they spot those....
  8. For the record.... The oem rear shock holds 350cc of oil. Will put fresh oil in and either sell or keep it
  9. If all goes as planned, the cavalry will arrive to save the day. In the mean time, 10 euros worth of Holts Gun Gum tape and paste filled the gap. Yes that is my creme brulee torch doubling up to warm the muffler :-)
  10. They looked (and still sound) OK from the outside/what is visible with them mounted. but taken off, well euh..... Upon buying the bike, I had seen that a section had been patched but what is this on the iside? a mini db killer? The other muffler has small hole (already welded once?) facing the swingarm Stuff this hole with JB Weld? But facing inwards near the collector box... Hello Linda!!!
  11. Across the North Sea: "petroleum" :-)
  12. Tip: Replace the oem pin covers with these from Pro-Bolt....
  13. OMG!!!!!!! Phantom's build actually exists! Many :-)
  14. Next is a yellow pliot/parking/city BA9S bulb to get rid of the white in the light being emitted
  15. Started working on preparing the front garden for the new arrival And then the rains came again (and I have a day job too....)
  16. Merhaba!!! But your post is a bit short on content!
  17. nope But that nob can be ordered new for Eur 4,50....... (and I assume it will have the decal on it..) Postage/handling (in NL) is 7,50 though with CMSNL........
  18. If you prefer black http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-VF500F-VF1000F-CB1100F-CB750F-CB900F-CB1100F-TRAC-FRONT-FORK-DECAL-/191618722477? Guy in Spain makes them and is a prompt and pleasant guy to do business with. I asked fro 1 red and one black, but one can ofcourse order 2 in the same color. If you still want the red, I will post it tomorrow. PS: I send him my picture and told him it was ok to use.
