  1. Any takers?
  2. I've had the Marc Parnes setup for years now. He's LoCal SoCal to me so I've met him in person and been to his shop. I like it b/c I have 4 bikes that I ride, and can easily swap the RD unit between all of them, taking the lights along too. I'm using a bluetooth RD, so I get audio in my ear thru the Sena unit as well.
  3. Part number is 16956-MZ7-000 and they have one of them, according to Mike in parts. Listed as Fuel, Tube Strainer, but it's a little 6" hose with an elbow turn in it. Rock Hill Powersports 803 324 8800 808 Riverview Rd Rock Hill, SC 29730 Monday Gone Riding! 4. Hey again. There’s a dealership in Rock Hill that has a small part I need, but they want more for shipping than the part cost. Anyone near there that can pick it up and mail it to me in CA? Can pay you thru PayPal etc.
  5. Ahhh. That elbow had me baffled for a replacement. Never thought about that. Thanks.
  6. Just called my dealer to see if they had one on the shelf. No luck.
  7. Hi gang. The small elbow hose on my 4th gen is leaking fuel. It runs from the fuel filter to the petcock nipple on the bottom of the tank. Short little thing. Has a rubber sleeve on it too. NLA from Honda and none on eBay. Part number is 16956-MZ7-000 and its listed as TUBE, fuel strainer. Anyone got a spare or an idea for a replacement? The diameter of the hose doesn’t scare me, it’s the 90 degree elbow bend that does. Thanks.
  8. I've had Oxford heated grips (with a Throttlemeister as well) on my RWB since I brought it home. Work well. No issues.
  9. Really? Here in SoCal the bike culture is strong, my friend. So much so that I've seen hundreds of riders at nightly bike shows...and not a "we're giving away a bike tonight!" bike shows. Just a regular Thursday night gathering.
  10. Yep. Swapped it with another battery, and it started on the first inkling of hitting the starter button. In fact, slo-mo garage cam footage may even show that I was just *thinking* about starting it, and it turned over. In hindsight, I thought the battery might be the problem, but the normal readings on the multimeter thru me off. I even took it to my local honda dealer who put it under load and said "battery's good." I even asked him for a price of a new one, and he said "What for?" So I guess since it cranked & ran with another known-good battery I need to follow up with him. Thanks for the nudge, guys.
  11. Sitting it has 13.4V. With key on it drops to 11.2V When cranking it drops to....8V? All connections are good.
  12. Battery is good according to autozone. 12.8V sitting. Other ideas?
  13. How does it get a "surface charge" instead of a "real charge"?
  14. Battery is 3 years old. But on a BT all the time. I've had some go 8-9 years on other bikes on a BT.
  15. I'm running the Yamaha R1 R/R Mofset swap, with wiring. FH012AA
  16. Oh...it's a sealed Yuasa, so I cannot add or check water either.
  17. My 4th gen is always on a Battery Tender when I'm not riding it. But the batter has been dragging lately and will no longer start the bike. Checked it with a meter today and it's showing 12.6V-12.8V when off the Tender. I've done the R/R swap from a Yamaha a while ago. Isn't 12.6V enough to turn it over? Next things to check? How do I check the R/R? It cranks but won't run, and dies after 2-3 seconds of cranking. Thanks guys.
  18. Ha!. That's half the fun, right? To be able to say "These cost $100 new, but I waited and looked around for 9.5 months, and got them for $85 plus shipping." When you could have bought them new easily. But where's the fun in that?
  19. The presiding wisdom is only OEM ones are decent. I know some folks tried to cheap out and get Emgo brand look-a-likes for the GSXR ones, and found out why they were so cheap. Vibration. I worked in a dealership for a bit, and every set of aftermarket mirrors we sold, regardless of brand or bike model, came back within days for OEM ones.
  20. I could only get 8 or 10 people committed, and the minimum break point for under $200 a set I think was 25 or 50 (again, it's here in this thread somewhere towards the end...just going from memory right now.) Once that cost crept up, those 8-10 had hard decisions to make, and some dropped. Which made it more expensive for the 6-8 still in, of course. Darth (the OG guy who made these) had one batch of 50 made, and sold all of them. But this was waaay back when Honda-San was still making the bike in the 2001-02 era.
  21. RE: the ebay link Yep. Those have been discussed/installed over on the OTHER VFR forum. Didn't work out well. Vibrated a lot. Had to redrill a hole on the fairing too if I remember right. Thurn made some as well (German company...also in this thread) and I contacted them and they wouldn't work either I think. Costs were high on it as well.
  22. No, I made some PLA ones as tests in white in order to double check dimensions and fit etc. To me, I didn't think it was strong enough to support the mirror, vibrations, and you couldn't cut threads into it to hold the bolt. You'll see fotos somewhere in the thread.
  23. Au contraire. I have the CAD files myself directly from the guy who made them originally, and (if you followed along all 27 pages of the whole sordid tale) I got quotes to get them made a few times, but the qty. we needed was so small the cost was way high.
