  1. Extremely difficult. The mounts are different I believe. The Carvers are the experts here, they built what you are talking about with a Gen 6 frame/ Gen 5 engine. Because I love the GDC so much, I wanted the same. But I didn't want all of the headache. So I built a "Gen 5.5" with the Gen 6 subframe. With the new subframe came a Gen 6 fuel tank and undertail exhausts. It still uses the Gen 5 main frame, which for the street is probably not all that noticeably inferior to the Gen 6. After installing Superhawk front forks/ DMR CBR 929 rear shock/ 6 piston calipers and de-linked I think the handling will be improved enough for me to be happy with the result. The 5.5 is the easier way to go IMHO.

Sexy. It's not easy to turn a 5th gen into a clean SF. VFR Streetfighters thumb their nose at the law... with total disregard for "No Parking Signs"!!!
  8. Awesome! Put me down for a couple of sets. This has been a long time coming!

Sick. Well done Seb. If Honda made a V4 streetfighter like yours, I would buy it :)
  10. I will post some pics once we have the finished product. We are painting the bodywork so havent been modifying the fairing mirror holes just yet.
  11. I posted some pics on my 5.5 build thread. The bike is still under construction so no seat time yet but they look great on the bike and high quality. I prefer how far they stick out as well vs. stock. more rear view visibility over the stocker's view of my elbows!
  12. I got my GSXR mirrors to work on my 5th at the moment with the ZX6R mounts. It works for now, But would love to see what the Honda guy comes up with. It looks so good on the 5th gen that i went ahead and bought another set of GSXR mirrors. I am also planning on getting some LED bulbs for both sets from superbrightleds.com.
  13. Those are beautiful. Jamie does amazing work!
  14. Ready whenever you are Seb! Need a set of fork and rear hub sliders.
  15. Go a few pages back in this thread and there are photos of the mod. Looks like it could work.
  16. I am planning to see if I can buy just the mirror mount base from the ZX6R that another guy used. I looked on flea bay and didnt see any. Might be rare. I am hoping that you can just buy the base separately and if thats possible I will let everyone know. Might be able to get a group discount from a Kawi dealer friend of mine.
  17. This is for the mirror mounts right? To mount up the GSXR mirrors to a VFR? for $50 count me in but it will have to be in the next month. I am anxious to get my project on the road when the snnow is gone!
  18. Great for going up against Lord Humungous- the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla.
  19. Unfortunately, the vast majority of metric riders are cheap. They purchase cheap parts, they expect cheap service. One of the things I like like most about Harley owners. Money is not an object. I have been gaining more Harley riders at the house because they have heard that I will baby their machine afford-ably. And they reward me handsomely for my efforts. I have even lessened the amount of HD bashing which I do. I have had Sportbike riders try to haggle with me over my tire and install prices. Then they get their feelings hurt when I tell them to "F - Off!" I save most riders 100.00+ over a dealer, on two tires and that is not enough for some. Now my shameless plug: If you are not using http://www.sprocketcenter.comyou are just paying too much. The guy who owns Sprocket Center absolutely cares about riders. I give him as much business as I can send his way. Just my way of showing my appreciation for his labors. Yea right. I haven't overheard a hundred conversations from HD riders over the years at Sturgis, the J&P Cycles rally, Daytona and Biketoberfest from HD riders whining about prices. They especially whine about tire prices. The difference is as long as it has "the logo"-the Bar and Shield on it- they don't mind paying more. They seem to actually WANT to pay more when it is branded HD. Hell, I think HD is missing the boat by not selling a turd in box stamped with the HD logo. Those guys would even buy that ...happily. What a stocking stuffer that would be for your favorite HD rider :) So you can say that the metric sportbike guys are cheap but everyone is looking for a deal these days. I don't care if you are a VET C motocross racer, a sportbike squid, or a wannabee SOA flaming d-bag edition HD rider. Everyone wants a deal.
  20. Hopefully next year at TMAC the group can pose member's VFRs through the years, from the beginning to 2014/15. That would be a cool pic.
