  1. 10V when? Did you follow the manual for the test for ohms and VAC...and continuity to ground?
  2. Choke questions (not to hijack): How come the regular choke revs to the moon but the wax circuit barely revs much over idle when I run my two bikes. On my other bikes with chokes, I usually set them ~2k until they're 1/2-ish warm then let them finish warming at idle.
  3. I kept both, but the '98 is much better to ride.
  4. Can you tell the general area? That could be...anything. Exhaust noise? Engine? Simply something rattling on the outside?
  5. Givi WingRack. Only available used these days.
  6. The seals leak, not the vent. They'll send you replacements, and I suggest that you get them before any design changes. I've had a bunch of them and am DOWN to just one on my spare track bike. I got rid of them. Also, if you actually "seal" the tank, if you go from cold to hot, the pressure can expand the tank...undesirable. If I knew that you liked them, I would have saved a box of them for you! 🙂
  7. Stock up on the O-ring sets while you can. They go bad and leak... It is much harder to see fuel level also. I hate them.
  8. I would make the opposite argument. On the bikes I've put them on, it is like night and day. Same in the car. Crappy feel is nearly always filthy caliper pistons/seals, not allowing them to move freely. I don't think that I've ever replaced a caliper piston seal in my life.
  9. I don't think that we have that here. Screwed on registration and insurance on everything in NC...every year.
  10. I know nothing of that era...and didn't know where to post it just in case someone was interested. I mean...who doesn't like F-bikes! Beats Fbook...
  11. Nearer to Winston-Salem... https://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/d/lexington-1984-honda-1000-interceptor/7788032345.html
  12. I can't help you with the conflicting instructions...but I would ask why you want to put it to factory instead of set it up for you?

Or maybe post the link to FB here? Like most, I despise Fbook, but I'm on there because I have to be.

Glad to hear this. Any pics to share?
  15. Looks like the shaft for a tire balancer.
  16. A same/similar layout with different colors can be magical. Like this (to me, so much better than OEM choices):

    No spark

People don't know much anymore. I had a place check my car battery three times only to find out that they kept putting the test leads on the plastic and not the battery posts...and they're experts. Must sell a lot of batteries.
  18. (not much) Later that day...
  19. Is anyone else giggling at a torch in a fuel tank? 🙂
  20. Plug it properly and run that sucker!
  21. Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Absorption-Four-claw-Flexible-orientation/dp/B09PD8RGK2
  22. I had no idea. Do you recall any specific models?

You were right if you took the coal road...and had some moisture! The rest were very clean. I was amazed.
  24. I just know that it will involve the tailpipe of a Suzuki...
  25. And...there is no "formula." One rider may like a stiff setup whereas another wants it loose (like me). Different spring rates require different valving, so rider weight is only a guide. Nearly any streetbike can get a decent baseline with sag #s and a very rough timing of compression/damping, but this is only a baseline. Likely "good enough" for most, but certainly not perfectly setup using data and human feedback. I can type more about my experiences if anyone cares, but I suspect not. 🙂
